They probably thought they would automatically save Steven as was the most in danger and it's backfired on them .

They knew the 2 newbs wouldn't be saved that's for sure and they knew Ashleigh would be the replacement.

Le great big fix

Who cares if Ashleigh is up?

Saving Ash is the best thing the HMs could have done for Ashleigh fans. Atleast those who detest the cool gang won't be screwed by a split vote for Steven/Ash. Plus Steven is in the most danger.

If Marlon wasn't up with Ash, Toya would have had a better chance of surviving.

I loved the gallant way Steven fell on sword immediately and took himself out of the running to be saved. You could almost see the cogs of his brain whirring around and imagine him thinking "hey this might just save me, this humble, honorable gracious act"...... such a change of tack from the desperado of the last few months.

No, the twist is to ensure that Ashleigh is seen as a "victim" and will be kept to the final.

As was the battery task when they showed the bitching to H,J and K.

The one thing Ashleigh cannot survive is being seen for the bitch she is. Since being PHM this week, that has been far too evident.

Haha I thought as much. He also imediately identified that even if changed tact he would have no chance against Chris and Mark who have all been cheered so decided Ashleigh was the best chance of him being saved. Bless him

Regarding the original post, yes i can see where you're coming from. It almost felt like Ash being picked wasn't supposed to happen.

I'm sure they'll come up with another means of keeping Steve safe.

I agree. I think most people would've thought he would be saved over the others through the twist. However, he unexpectedly pulled himself out of the running, so it didn't work.

Can't wait to see what they come with if that's the case Anything short of brokering peace in the Middle East will hopefully see the back of him.

I can hear BB now Stephen re enters the house "at half 10" after the evictions over

It is not to save him, it is to ensure there is any suspense at all for the eviction.

I notice that Steve says at the end of the show that he doesn't want to go but he is interested in seeing the outside world, as he is supposed to be so in love I would have expected him to say I am so looking forward to seeing Kim again or something similar but he seems to have forgotten about her already

Probably because he has been the most talked about hm since Helen's bust ups in the early days. She may have dominated Social Media in the first week or so but since then it's all been Steven & Ashleigh so what better way to create more attention to them. With only 3 weeks left they can afford to lose one of them now.

only 3 weeks left on Friday.
They are hardly gaining or losing many viewers anyway , very steady so why even bother now.

He, like Helen, is the villain in a BB soap opera.......they know their villains would be shoved out because of their awful behaviour.........so they must make changes in the script in order to keep them in for future storylines......

Just imagine if we could vote on Coronation Street........would we still have Tracy Barlow.......I don't think so......

I may watch till the end of this sorry mess of a show but I stopped voting when Matthew went.
My prediction is that a friend of Ash and Helen will win maybe Winston or Mark.

It might save him (hope not), but surely even Steven's ego could work out that being saved twice in a row, from the exact same twist, would look cowardly.

Exactly. It's not to save Steven or buddy up to Helen as I keep reading. They want a voting frenzy and they want the show being discussed online. They want storylines, controversy and money. End of story.

Producers don't care about making viewers angry cos they know people will keep voting regardless. BB dont care about making life unpleasant for HMs... they signed their contracts, they had the 'doom speech' before going in. Put simply, they're sociopathic in their pursuit of story and revenue. The best thing Ashleigh fans could do is not vote, but the show has them by the short and curlies by now. And BB knows it.
