Emma and Rylan left in the dark

Both have now made it known they are against the ridiculous twists Big Brother keep pulling out of their backsides:

What the hell is going on..? Just looked at my messages and everyone is saying Ashleigh is up..? - EMMA

WTF?? Why am I getting tweets saying Ashleigh is up??? She's immune isn't she? - RYLAN

A small but significant step to send a message to the producers.

really, REALLY?

if the producers didn't want those messages up they would have been pulled in a heartbeat. All part of the on-going manipulation that is BB2014...

... if only they were any good at it

Yeah I'm a bit suspicious of this, and the tweets from Matthew and Toya, all done to hype the eviction up and drag in more voters IMO.

Of course they bloody knew ,
I can't believe people are falling for this BS ,as i've said on other threads the quickest way for them to stop Spamming/Hate to their personal Twitter is to Tweet out they had no idea until they rad it on twitter themselves

Even if they didn't know why should BB have to run everything by them first

It seems they're making decisions on the hoof now

One eye on CBB maybe with the normal show just an annoying distraction to them at this point

Yeah I'm thinking that they tweeted that on purpose to avoid any backlash directly towards them.

The only thing that gets people talking is when big brother does something controversial. I actually think they like it when fans get mad.

I still don't understand why people think the autocue readers are up around the top tier of the production food chain.

Little bit more publicity.

Well piss easy if they feel that pissed off they should refuse to host the shows right now unless BB producers sort themselves out.

If they did not know, there would be a reason. Possibly they would not agree, most normal people that can read and listen and digest would not agree. When it says ' not up for eviction'!!!!! IT IS NOT UP FOR EVICTION

Obviously their surprise expression would add something to the show, ONLY if it did not show disbelief and possibly disapproval. Shock surprises are a bit of a gamble..

While I agree with what you say - I think that considering the big part that social media now plays in the show whether we as viewers like it or not Emma & Rylan are more or less spokepeople for the show & should at least be kept in the loop as to what's going on, even if it's purely to warn them of pending attacks on their Twitter accounts from disgruntled viewers who trust their word.

These latest events show a distinct lack of respect for them by the production team imo.

Lines are not yet open so who knows it might be some other twist by BB to fool the HMs.

Rylan and Emma are only presenters they don't get any say in how the show is run. Also, didn't Rylan get in trouble for tweeting something last year that wasn't supposed to be made public. They probably try not to give them too much info after that.

Granted they may not give them masses of info... but as presenters, they know the power of their public twitter accounts so lets not be so stupid as to pretend that they go posting stuff on there without running it past their management/production team first - OF COURSE THEY DO!

c'mon we're not that stupid.

That would be career suicide, especially for Rylan. No-one would touch them again if they quit mid-contract, or overstepped the mark by attempting to lay down the law. Their only realistic option is to refuse to renew if offered a new future contract. There are plenty of people who would be glad of the job.

Rylan and Emma are the hired help - they have no right to any information other than what their managers decide. When I was working I was not privy to every decision made by my managers. I did what I was paid to do. I also left jobs when I did not like the way things were run. Rylan and Emma have the same choice.

Hmm maybe channel 5 isn't that powerful though. It's not itv or the bbc. But yeah Emma should have more sway though shes had and still has big jobs elsewhere other channels. Also plenty of people wanting to host BB shows i'm not so sure , it's not exactly the biggest job on tv.

Here's a thought. The "public votes, but only because we manipulate them" days have run their course.

If the current format is seen as so inherently boring that the producers have to jump through hoops to make it bearable, than change the fecking rules TOTALLY already and try something different. Total US rules Fine? Public nominates and house evicts? Fine. Some kind of Team vs. Team format (like the US Survivor)? Fine. Something, anything, because the current format is showing it's age when they have to basically do something extreme every week to get anyone to notice the show at all.

As far as I'm concerned they can do whatever they want in the future but NOT masquerading under the name/brand of Big Brother.

and therein lies the problem doesn't it....

The show Big Brother means no contact with the outside world, and since it's moved to CH5 that has been pushed and pushed with every season.... for me, this season is way too far, but then I'm 50+ and a BB veteran. Perahaps the TOWIE/Geordie Shore fans love the way the show is now?

sad times for the original fans.

I don't expect decisions to be run past the presenters at all, but you think they'd be briefed about the upcoming week since they recap and give exclusives on BOTS every night.

Remember last series how Emma would always tell us the twist for the following week in Secrets & Lies at the end of the Friday's eviction?
