EXCLUSIVE: Channel 5 has REFUSED to comment on the Big Brother immunity scandal over Ashleigh's nomination: http://www.bbspy.co.uk/bb15/news/072...nation-scandal … #bbuk

They know they messed up, but I don't think they care.

Why should they care what the fans think ?

When their complaints are so full of hypocrisy it's hard to listen to them.

If fans are only going to complain when the twists are against their fave's it's hard to ever take these people seriously.

Probably as their wrong and they know it.

They should never have said Ashleigh has immunity.

I wonder if they'll have the courage to repeat that immunity scene in tonight's "previously..." bit at the start of the episode?

It's not a scandal, why would you think that? Okay I get it your one of the Ashleigh worshipers. If Helen had lost her immunity how would you have reacted - remember that she has had it since the beginning?

This is not about who favours who. This is about Channel 5 backtracking after making a press announcement previously

Its because it was stated they had immunity. There was no reason to throw in a 3rd twist.

I don't understand why there wasn't such a furore when Toya went up in exactly the same way? Big Brother said the usual no-one is safe kind of stuff at the start of the week, so why should Ashleigh be safe? In any case, she is safe! She won't go over Steven and I would have thought Pav would easily go over Ashleigh as well. In fact with the 4 up, I can easily envision her as being the first to be saved.

Well this is truth.

Regardless of what will or won't happen, if you think Ashleigh has been wronged to the extent that you'd contact channel 5 about it, you must also stand by the fact that Helen definitely ought to keep her pass to the final until she makes it there. And if Helen's pass were taken away you should be contacting channel 5 just as fervently. If you don't feel this way about both scenarios then it's about something other than what you feel is right or wrong on the part of channel 5.

Rubbish. You even admitted yourself the other day that you don't mind the twists as long as they go in your favour.

It's a scandal because their PR department sent out the press release to all media outlets saying the power alliance were immune. Big Brother's rule that they can change the rules at any time only applies to inside the BB house, not when you lie to the public

I agree they should never of said what they said, then back tracked. It is wrong. Its nothing to do with who is who's fan etc, its the principal of the matter.

I think it's now clear there are major problems between endemol and C5. It appears from reading here that the presenters didn't know about the twist within a twist within another twist. My guess is that those that are still watching are watching the last BB on C5 and possibly the UK.

But that's exactly the point. It's one rule for everyone, or no one. If Helen's pass is to be honoured, then other people's immunity should also be honoured. In Orwellian terms, some animals are more equal than other animals. OK shaft Ashleigh, et al, fine, but then Helen shouldn't be immune to tampering too. They've made her untouchable.
What a shambles

The immunity thing is annoying but I see the problem in how certain housemates are consistently screwed over and others protected in this series. Big Brother have shafted Ashleigh again.

Channel 5 has refused to comment on the backlash over the Big Brother 2014 Power Alliance twist, after Ashleigh Coyle was put up for eviction despite being promised immunity.

Having become the latest Power Housemate, Ashleigh was told on Monday that she would be exempt from this week’s public vote.

The Irish model’s safety was assured by voice interface Iris in the Control Room, who said: “I can now tell you that you are immune from this week’s eviction.”

After she joined forces with Chris and Mark to become the ‘Power Alliance’ – a team that would exclusively decide who would face eviction – Channel 5 then announced to the public that all members of the Alliance would be immune.

A press release issued by the broadcaster yesterday afternoon read: “All Housemates in the Alliance will be immune from eviction.”

Despite this, last night the Power Alliance twist came to an end with Ashleigh being put up for eviction. Big Brother fans responded furiously to the news, accusing show bosses of lying and misleading both the housemates and the public.

This afternoon, bbspy approached the broadcaster for a statement regarding the controversy.

However, the broadcaster declined the opportunity to explain the twist, instead answering simply: “No comment.”

Viewers were responsible for voting Ashleigh as the Power Housemate, in a free poll conducted on the official Big Brother iOS app at the weekend asking: “If Big Brother decided to return the power to the house, who would you like Big Brother to give the power to?”

The 18-year-old will now face the axe during Friday’s live show alongside fellow nominees Pav, Steven and Zoe.

It just feels to me that Endemol staff are doing the show for THEMSELVES and not for the VIEWERS, Guess they have a little whiteboard, with the names of who they want for the final week, have all the tasks(if you can call them tasks) all laid out beforehand and if things go slightly wrong, they have a plan b, otherwise known as making it up as they go along.

They have bitten off more than they can chew with this one and must be busy picking the bones out of it.
They couldn't organise a nomination in a BB house.

But that was if we weren't told they were immune. They have lied to the HMs a lot of times, but they shouldn't lie to us either. The thing they did wrong was say to us "The PH was immune" when they weren't. They could have tricked the HMs, but they shouldn't trick the viewers. Eg. Secrets and Lies, Dan's eviction, they weren't told who was up, imagine if we weren't told who was up either.

If Toya was told she was immune after people had voted for her, then I would have thought it was wrong too. The fact I didn't care too much is because the HOUSE MATES voted for her, not the public (and yes, I know it was a free vote, but still).

AND, it's also about who they are doing it to. Would they do this if it was Helen or Mark in danger? I think not. AND, this is the third time Ashleigh has been screwed over. One of those by showing her DR plan, why didn't they show Helen, Ash and all the others DR chats?

IF this twist had been mentioned before the vote for PHM had started it wouldn't have mattered so much
