Anyone know why this is? My friend and I both have Samsung S4 on same carrier (Jersey Telecoms). His has been updated to Kitkat months ago, mine however has not and I have checked for a manual update. Not the end of the world but it does confuse me.

Although I hate the software Kies, install it on your desktop and connect your phone. See if it can detect which firmware version you're using and it should tell you an update is available. For the record, in the UK the networks normally do their own ROMs but I'm not so sure that Jersey do that.

Do you have an SD card in it? I had the same issue, whereby my S4 should have updated to KitKat weeks earlier, but even a manual update check returned 'No Updates'. It wasn't rooted and my network was rolling it out, so I couldn't see the problem. Turned out that for some reason, the SD card was preventing it updating. As soon as I took it out and checked for updates, it detected and installed the KK update immediately.

Thanks I don't have a card in, might check with JT, although they are terrible operator!
