I don't understand the surprise that people that end up on Big Brother are pretty fond of themselves. To enter yourself into a popularity contest, you have to consider yourself popular. The winner is only determined by who the majority of the public agree with.
If I were Chris in that house, I think I would be in a perpetual state of shock that everyone would opt to sit with someone like Steven, someone that doesn't listen, isn't bothered about your life, has no interest in anything you say, rather than me. Chris may not be all that if you saw him in the real world. But in there he's as normal and level headed as you'll get. So I don't blame him for realising this.
