Yup. I've never made any bones about this but that won't stop some people assuming I'm her boyfriend or even her pimp etc. (ha, yeah really). I can understand why people may make assumptions but it does become rather tiring having to explain myself all the time (this isn't at you btw).

I agree, and I do take your point- I can also understand how annoying it would be for someone who dismisses a poster's views and say they only like her because of Helen, but I'd take it on a case by case basis. Unless someone outright called me a liar of said that ALL Ashleigh fans did this, then I personally wouldn't worry.
There definitely are some people who have openly admitted to liking her as she is the anti-Helen so it definitely exists at least to some extent.


True, but then you could say there are more threads against Helen than all the above combined. You could also say that the people who have 'supported' Helen are so few in number that it's amazing any threads exist at all that have called it into question.

I don't have a problem with supporting/ or not any TV character, it's the complete "over the top" reactions that baffle me.

This is what a number of us have tried to get over, it's not about hating anybody or a lot of us having another favourite it is purely because of the double standards. I don't think people have been unfair about Ashleigh, I really could have liked her if she had been more up front. I even posted in her first few pages of her appreciation thread when she was first in the house saying that I liked the look of her. But she is just not the person I expected her to be.

As for Janis saying that I have written things that indicate my loathing of her is really not true, we are on this forum to comment about people's character and their time in the house and what we think about them. This is what many of us are doing.

I don't have a problem with anyone liking Ashleigh or any other housemate for that matter just because I don't like them, and I don't believe I have ever questioned it.

What would be really nice though is to be able to voice an opinion on Ashleigh/Chris without being continually chided and baited by their many supporters ( they are forum fav's so are the majority on here)....the usual comments are that we are jellus ,nasty like Helen, unintelligent, scared of them winning etc etc etc. That is boring and monotonous and really annoying.

The worst one is being accused of being a Helen fan. I was even called gay once just because i don't like Ashleigh

I think at the end of the show everyone on the BB forum should do a big group virtual hug, (or a firm handshake for the less touchy feely types/ men!) with a 'no hard feelings, see you next year for more fun and merriment' kinda vibe going on.

Keeping it all as a bit of light fun is probably the way to go, I do think most of us do get over passionate about housemates each year. But this is why BB producers like to wind us all up isn't it?

Yes well I was responding precisely to that point, these are in the minority because there simply are not that many on here compared to the army of Ashleigh/Chris supporters....its all about gang mentality on here sometimes and it is virtually impossible to voice a negative opinion of these two without the thread desending into tit for tat amongst F/M.

You think these comments are harsh, but Ashleigh has said a lot worse against Kim, Jale and Helen so in the grand scheme of things not that harsh and I wouldn't say they are hateful comments would you?
