iPhone 4S not showing wifi networks
My father in law bought an iPhone 4S from someone at his work today & I was setting it all up for him but no wifi networks were showing up, even when wifi was switched on.
I done a restore by holding power & home but it didn't help. I managed to connect to wifi by typing in the network name & password manually bit when he went upstairs, it disconnected and had to do it manually again. The same network showed up no problem on my 5S, my wife's 5S and mother in law's S3 no problems. Any ideas on a fix or what to try next? |

The first thing that springs to mind is it a 2.4 GHz wifi network? iPhone 4s cannot see wireless on 5 GHz.

I'd assume so as they've used the same router for about 3 years and when I had a 4S, it would connect to it no problem

Hmm I'd try taking it out to where you know there are public wireless hotspots and see if it can pick any of those up. It could possibly be a malfunctioning wireless antenna they have been known to go bad especially in the 4s.

Some of the iPhone 4/4s models did suffer from WiFI being killed when updated to iOS 7. But if it connects to WiFi if entering the settings manually, that doesn't seem to be the case with yours. Have you tried a full restore/factory reset using iTunes?
