Just rang up to upgrade and have been offered a iphone 5c 16 16GB with:
unlimited texts
unlimited mins
2GB of data
free phone for £23.99 p/m for 24 months.

or

iphone 5S 16GB

unlimited texts
1000 mins
2GB of data
free phone for £32.99 p/m for 24 months

(Is it worth paying extra for the 5S?)

Ive had htc's and samsungs in the past but after having a go on the iphone i like it. So as i havent looked for iphone deals before just wondering if what ive been offered is good?

I do like the look of the s4 mini black edition too but that was £29.99 a month free phone with
unlimited texts
unlimited mins
1GB of data

im currently with tmobile 30 day sim only £11.99 with 500 mins/1GB data and unlimted texts

If you are in the £33/month ballpark the phones to check-out are the following:

Samsung Galaxy S5
Sony Xperia Z2
HTC One M8
LG G3

All have quad core processors and at least 2GB of RAM making them fast to use. They all are this years models unlike the iPhone 5C which is actually a coloured 5 and 2 years old. The 5S is a slight upgrade on the 5C and is very lacking in spec compared with it's Android peers. Another issue might be the move to iTiunes, non user replaceabale battery, non expandable storage and no file sharing via Bluetooth.

Others to consider that are less expensive are the Samsung Galaxy S4, S4 Mini and the Nokia Windows 4G phones as they have had good reviews.

I would push them for a better deal than they are offering on their website. Loyalty should be rewarded. If they fail to come up with a decent offer, shop around as there are some deals to be had from all the networks and retailers now.

Go with what YOU like the best, I mean all the phones mentioned are good really, but for me I'm like you, the top end android phones like the S5, M8, LG G3 are all too big. I've been into iPhones for the last few years and I'm rocking the 5S at the moment, brilliant phone all round

I'm due an upgrade too and the only thing they offered me that was cheaper than the website was a Sim only EE deal, and the equivalent tariff was cheaper than 3.

Phone wise, what about an LG G2? Think it's smaller than the G3, M8 and S5. I know the G3 is out now but it's still a fantastic phone.

They're probably willing to offer decent deals on whatever iPhone handsets they have left, as the iPhone 6 is suspected soon.

You will notice iPhone inventory prices only start to drop at retail around a month before the launch of the new model. Some places have already discounted admittedly, Apple has a cast iron grip on the pricing of its devices, it never wants them to be seen as "cheap". All part of the aura you see.....I own an iPhone but even I admit its over priced.....I have it for the small form factor nothing else.
