Helen: are we failing to see the real end game here?
The trouble with BB is that they are routinely dishonest and that will breed conspiracy theories - like this one I offer below.
A thought crossed my mind - so I thought I would offer it for discussion. Suppose BB decided that the most publicity for the show and hence the most interest from advertisers would come from Helen - and any sex she might have in the house - but principally her. They knew she was awful and could not keep her vicious tongue in check so she would be poison to the public. She could therefore not be exposed to the public vote at any time before the final. She would require a free pass - ideally delivered to her by a 'non-BB" 3rd party. And that came to pass - how it happened we don't know. Next, every week she would spread her poison, reduce people to tears and be exempt. Then what is her value for the end game? She has to stay and be abusive and then BB turns the tables on her and exposes her career profile and she is reduced to tears and a broken woman. Then the soft hearted GBP decide to save that particular fallen woman and she becomes the winner. If I was of a suspicious mind I would say that BB ensures the outcome by controlling the votes registered via the IOS App. No third party will ever see the true numbers cast via the app. Helen will win. The favourites will lose. The bookies will be ecstatic. Worth a bet - still 33/1? |

Or alternatively they recruited Helen for BB because they knew she was volatile and likely to cause a few rows - they knew she had a 'past' and they simply thought she might be an interesting character.
END OF. Mad I know - but it's a theory

I don't think they can fix the App vote, it'll be regulated, at least nominally, since Ant & Dec-gate. |

Seeing as reality TV producers appear devoid of any ethical rectitude anymore, I wouldn't rule anything out.

This is a possibility I have been musing on, while we all bay for her exposure.

I think it's quite likely she was given the pass to keep her in as she is the sort to be booted out very early on and that would be a shame for BB. They need to keep the show high profile and in the tabloids. My only surprise is that they didn't get her in celeb BB, she's had threesomes with famous footballers, been in the tabloids, she'd be perfect. Helen must be wondering that too.

Just to add, wouldn't it have been amusing if they'd managed to get the geriatric hooker that Rooney enjoyed the services of, she may have been more interesting than Helen.

(And as the OP says, when the authorities are routinely dishonest, that will breed conspiracy theories. And the existence of a nice broad range of conspiracy theories, from plausible to wacko, is a convenient cover should you wish to perpetrate an actual conspiracy.)
