Remote advice

hi there, I'm off to our caravan for the weekend tomorrow and have people coming up to stay and we can't play music as our cd player is on the blink, the docking station works but our nano is fooked! our next choice is to use our ex hard drive which has playlists through our silvercrest DVD player but can't find the remote and the controls available can't let us go through the file to select, the tv is an Pannasonic LCD about 5 yrs old with no usb! you would think we could some sounds going with this mix, we could play throught the laptop but the sound wouldn't that great, any ideas would be appreciated, just hope I can find the remote at the van as it's not in the house.

Thanks in advance

Does your laptop and TV both have HDMI sockets if so can you not just connect the two of them together using a HDMI lead.

Another option is to purchase a new DVD player as there are a few around foe under £30.

Is there an AUX in on the CD player, DVD player or TV(*)? Do you have a mobile phone you can use to store and play music from?

(*) Does the TV have a composite (Red, White and Yellow) input? If so you can use a converter headphone jack to RCA lead.

There you go then. Play music on the laptop feeding its headphone output to the TV composite (Red and White) input using an appropriate converter lead available for little money from the likes of Maplin.

Ok, went through my enormous bag of defunct cables and found Jack out to yello white red tried this in my own tv and couldn't get it to work! but it is hooked up to a freesat box being fed through an Onkyo 3.1 set up did go through the settings without success.
Probably almost there, the tv in the van doesn't anything like this but has SD freesat box, maybe just a case of try and see.

Thanks so far, hope the weather holds up for everyone as it's B****y hot here!

Hi there, yes white, red worked but didn't need it but good advice as usual, I can also, I think access the ex-drive but haven't tried it. Absoloutely roasting at the weekend, 29 oc for us and it was 31.5 oc on friday, not good for the entertainment technology in the caravan when I opened it up it was 34 oc! just melted and that was 6.30pm.
BBQ this weekend 17 oc and P*****g rain with thunderstorms, just as I like it!
