Someone had said why is Steven behaving like this and she said, that the above was her theory, that Steven was doing it to try to make the public like him again, to show that he WAS a fun person, she wasn't being bitchy just saying why she thought he'd been like he had over the last week. BB just took out the line they did to make it look bad. Unfortunately Helen is not too good at explaining things and sometimes says it in the wrong way. That, and her flat Mancunian accent, make her sound like she's being nasty, when a lot of the time it's not meant in the way it comes out. Same with the effing tramp remark, she didn't actually say that Kim was one, that was taken from the convo she had with Ash about what she usually thought when watching anyone having sex on BB, what an effing tramp, she said she felt bad about saying that as they (Kim and Steven) been at it. Helen's biggest downfall is that she speaks without thinking about it first, and it quite often comes out sounding different to how it's meant to because she's not socially adept.”
I agree. She also does herself no favours by prefacing everything with the F bomb, it makes things sound much more aggressive especially with her loud monotone accent. Ive lived in Manchester and met loads of people who talk like her and Ash, so I know it's a 'thing'. I take a lot of their effing and jeffing lightly.
But still, it was ironic last night that she was upset about having her own quotes misrepresented (and they were) because of how bad she sounded but she also casually called Jale a "fat knobhead". What a strange moral disconnect. It was an abusive hurtful comment said shamelessly in front of everyone. One is bad but not the other?
I don't know if that's because she has no self control/self-awareness. Or if she doesnt like being portrayed as two-faced when she prides herself on being one of those "I'll say it to your face" people. Or if she only feels bad when she's trash talked someone she cares about, not someone irrelevant to her like Jale or Christopher. It looks at times like she's running this weird moral double standard, where if you're in her posse, there's a code. If you're not, then she can be as abusive and cold as she wants. It 'doesn't count' because she doesn't care about you.
When she hears something she's said repeated back and is forced to confront how bad she sounds, she does seem genuinely contrite or outraged. But even then she'll downplay it as "me being a d***head" which gives an illusion of accountability with no real attempt at changing.
