Getting that trick question wrong is meaningless imo.

For one thing, in this day and age July could be a name... there's people named River, Apple, Heaven, a Female named Jonny, it wouldn't surprise me for someone to be named July.

The same thing with the Doctor on Neighbours trick question, it doesn't mean anything as an indication. You could be thinking that you simply haven't seen Neighbours and don't focus on it, or you might be thinking what specific type of Doctor, etc.

It's funny to me that's the focus here as an indication of anything. Not knowing who the PM is would be inexcusable, not getting a trick question doesn't mean much to me.

The trick question works because it's three.

"Johnny's mum has 3 kids - April, May and... What's the 3rd child's name?"

Our brains fill in the 3rd name as June; it's the "comedy rule of threes", not "fours".

It's just a shame they exhibit so rarely the humility to match their ignorance. If you examine the present housemates you'll find the greater the bravado, the greater the ignorance and the almost total absence of humility. Just a thought...
