Of course it was a joke, and pretty much everyone can see that.

But Winston is not liked on here, and he is a dead cert for the final and a possible winner so he gets people's backs up.

Unfortunately, he doesn't do much wrong and people cannot give much weight to the reasons they dislike him as there are very few incidents they can quote to support that he is an unpleasant person.

So that is why this obvious joke has been inflated to a ridiculous level.

Me too!
Made me think he couldn't have feelings for Helen other than being her mate.

Erm...I said further up that I think Winston can be a kind lad, I'm simply disappointed in him when he says stuff like this which I think lets him down. I think there's been a good bit of inflation in the other direction.

Ooooh, also prickly!

Like I said, always the smug comment. Only people who don't respond aren't at least slightly "prickly". But we all are on here, to a certain extent.

I was referring to a previous poster with my advice before there, until the mods seemingly intervened. Ho hum.

Nothing prickly about saying "you have your view, I have mine". If you think that's smug...???

My point was that once people start chucking generalisations around, it does nothing for the discussion, other than to cause it to deteriorate.

Lots of hot air being spouted on this thread yet nobody has mentioned the circumstances of the remarks.

Spray tans or any full body grooming have the potential for embarrassment. There was a measure of awkwardness in the room.

The remarks cleared the air and made the situation more comfortable for everybody because they brought the undercurrents out into the open which were then dismissed with laughter.

Happens a million times a day in a million different circumstances.

Why would people who can be so frank, be seen to feel remotely awkward or embarrassed?

I don't often sympathise with Helen but she looked awkward at the end.

I've just looked back at the incident and it was actually Ash who started the whole thing off saying "Are you going to get your boobs out" to Helen. Winston just sort of carried on from there ....and Ash was chanting it with him.

What it boils down to is yet more double standards for me. Sure it's not the biggest thing in the world but then nor was Bianca saying she'd shag him on the rubble and look at the names and stick she got on here.

If a woman acted like Winston she would be vilified on here. You know it and I know it.

Hypocrisy and double standards are par for the course round here I know, and staples for this forum, but no harm in me pointing it out. Yet Again.

Having seen a few posts removed it also appears that we have some rather more sensitive souls on here than they seem make out. Now that is pretty funny.

"For the record" (since it seems to have become the fashionable phrase) I saw plenty of dislike for Bianca's actions anyway.

of all the housemates winston deserves it the least.
you do forget he is even there - if it wasn't for his odd name i probably would forget he is a housemate.
at least apparent 'boring' chris is making enough impression to have a army of haters & threads about him every 5 minutes - this is the first winston one i have seen since the brief danielle/winston thing.

that line sums those 2 up shallow perverts.
women have zero respect viewers included if they find chants like that endearing , a laugh maybe but worth cooing over & falling in love with winston & ash over.

Well that's an age old question.
Why are people so embarrassed about their bodies?

Cultural conditioning?

Why do you think BB pushes the personal grooming so much and has done over the years?
To really reward HM?
Or to constantly emphasise body awareness which has the potential to create tensions?

Ash is just so classy - erm - not

A lot of men say that to women friends, and do they say whip your c**k out? - NO

I am a guy and I think it is just sleezy. Apart from anything else, I genuinely do not believe he has the slightest long term interest in Helen. Sad, because it is patently obvious that she does. Karma is a total bitch.

And I knew someone would peddle the tired old hackneyed phrase of 'militant feminists out in force' rather than try to at least make an effort to understand why someone might be offended by what was said. Who knew hey!

Looks like we were both right, in our own minds at least?

I think it's to do with levels of personal control, or rather feeling in control.
I was initially surprised by Helen saying that she feels awkward around men in social situations, but then in her past working life it would be an entirely different context and perhaps she is the type that compartmentalises these things successfully (or to her disadvantage depending how you look at it).

So if a friend does it that's ok then? Really?

Where does that end?

To me, he should not have said it. If it makes someone uncomfortable, then it is wrong.

Ashleigh looked uncomfortable. Winston should know better. Not funny.

It's not about being drama queens or PC, it's about common decency.

In any case it was actually Ash who started it. He asked Helen if she was getting her boobs out and Winston took up the chant. Seemed pretty harmless to me and I'm old!

I believe her when she said that. I also think she was cringing when Winston and Ash said that to her. I mean it's hardly the most flattering thing to say to a woman, is it?
