Is this a bit unfair?

The 'Cool' group's obviously a ridiculous term, but if it can be said to include Marlon, Ash, Steve, Helen and Winston, they've been pretty much sidelined in this year's theme, whereas Ashleigh and Chris have been in the hot seat twice. Granted, Helen's at an automatic advantage (though it didn't help her much during Ladies Power Week) but shouldn't at least one of the others be given a shot before the series is over? If only because it looks to be something of a poisoned chalice.

Note: I'm not accusing the producers of bias here, I can't be arsed with all that, but it could be argued the 'outsider' faction's had things a bit too much its own way, when it comes to deciding nominations.

So, thoughts?

Helen was part of the "girl power"

but the idea of "the power" is to keep turning it all over, like a spade in the garden or a paddle in one of those ice slush drink machines...

plus NO ONE SHOULD WANT THE POWER! it is a chore not a privilege and comes at a heavy personal cost.. this is like being the leader of a failing community who has to do bad things for the good of the group... not a king or queen who lives in wealth

Chris in particular has had a huge influence on the series through his two stints as Secret Power Mate. The first time, he simply gave free reign to his prejudices and wasn't much more rational than Pauline.

It would be fascinating to see what Steven would do (a bit late now, probably), or Ash. And it's almost mandatory that we must all despise Helen, but wouldn't it be intriguing to see what she'd do if she had The Power?

Pauline, Helen and Toya all had it.

the bb theme is power that comes at a cost this lot have been protected from it, that's why they are all still there

I thought Toya was Ashleighs best friend.

The so called 'cool' kids were originally Helen, and all the boys except Chris and Christopher, only later to be joined by Kim and Jale.

As for Pauline, no groups had been formed when the public gave her the power, and basically she was a one woman alpha house dictator (I don't do discussion, I just state facts.), so she did not need a group, she ruled above them all.

BB probably considers that girl power equated to a 'cool' majority, but they had not reckoned with the ARA (Ashleighs Revenge Army).

BB probably thinks the real power lies with Helen in any case.

i wouldnt be shocked if they gave her the power you must pick a hm to evict and loose you golden ticket it would cause meltdown on here if she ever got the power

Maybe the housemates should compete to become PH.

It would go against the plan because whoever they give power to they have to screw them over and they don't want to screw over Helen's group, it's the opposite of what they want to do.

And Mark.

But it seems people will try to define "'Cool' Group" in a question-begging way so that those examples somehow don't count.

Helen and her sycophants have had the Power since Day One!

Helen is a major part of the "cool kids" and has had the power of protection every week to a degree ...that trumps everything else....as it guartantees the cool kids extra power on a constant basis.

Pauline was part of the cool group and had the power.

Toya stood astride both camps..very close to Helen..until she tried to ensure everyone was up (then the cool group turned on her).

Girl power week..the cool kids (at that time) outnumbered the others in the vote.

Chris had the power.

Ashleigh had the power (with Chris and Mark...with a twist that put her up for eviction).

Fairly even I would say..if not in favour of the "cool kids" due to Helen's constant badge of power.

Well Helen had no say, really, in who went up during Girl Power week. With Ashleigh and Danielle's solid alliance, Jale 'trying to be reasonable' and Kim just dithering, she was always going to struggle.

Toya made her feelings about Ash, Winston, Marlon, etc, pretty clear, I'd have thought, the minute she got the opportunity. Her 'fairness' routine was fairly suspect; there was no strategy involved, beyond targeting the HMs she saw as competition, or just didn't like. And Pauline, aside from the fact that she was out the door too early to have to decide on her loyalties, always saw herself as House Mum, and thus above whatever petty squabbles the others might have had. Though it would have been interesting if she'd stayed in, admittedly, which is especially true of any of the other evictees.

Toya was very much part of the cool kids when she got voted to be PHM. Helen voted for her and I can't remember who the other 2 people were.
Pauline was also more with the cool group than not. Her closest people to begin with were Helen, Mark and Steven and then others like Toya came into the food when they saw how much power she had

Can we stop calling them the cool kids. There is nothing cool about them. Now if you wanted to call them the mutual-ass-licking group then that's fine

True, but then most of the ones that have had the power have gone, well the ones in the bitch fest group with Ashleigh, [ who started this "cool gang" thing]

In one of Douglas Adams' Hitch Hikers Guide... novels (or it might possibly be the 2nd radio series? Or both?!) he says something to the effect that "those who most desire power should under no circumstances be allowed to attain it" and i think those are words to live by, both within the house and in the wider environment.

I'd call them the 'Cruel' group, they're quit a nasty bunch.
