The things that have turned BB into the sad state it is in today
RayRidley

I'll start with a couple...

1. The obsession with the 'twist'. They've become so absurd and convoluted they've painted themselves into a corner - ending up with the farce re Ashleigh this week.

2. The tasks - remember the marathon tasks of yesteryear, when people were paired up and forced to get to know each other - such as the dual bike pedalling task from years ago. When housemates started to rebel and refuse to do them BB should have put their foot down, but caved in. Can you imagine Mark's reaction to having to take part in a task which involved staying up half the night?

The number of twists are a joke. Would love to see a stripped back bb that's more like the old days but it ain't gonna happen.

I've got a bit of a beef with them using the word twist. To me they are using a word that makes it sound almost like a good story where there is a twist at the end...all exciting and mysterious...oooh...whodunnit etc...

When in reality, they are manipulating housemates relentlessly in the name of cheap and chatty entertainment.

Plus of course, when you have twists every week (or more) they become less exciting and too predictable.

Which makes it all a bit pointless really..

The lack of Live Feed.
The endless interference from the terrible producers.
The badly edited highlights.
The music/nametags/ OTT Marcus in the Highlights.
The choice of housemates.
The ridiculous twists.
The boring and stupid tasks.
The terrible spin off show.
The unprofessional behaviour of the hosts.
The eviction crowds.
The house designs.
The constant luxury budgets.
The removal of the shopping list.
The loss of Diary Room privacy.
The lack of normal nominations.
The over the top evictions (Music/loud countdowns)
The amount of outside world contact.

Bring back the cardboard box task. It was the funniest thing I ever saw on BB. I literally laughed until I cried.

BB = Broken Britain.
Last one out, lower the flag to half-mast.
First one back in, bring some air-freshener.

For me it all went wrong when they sent an evicted HM back in (Nickki) it showed a complete lack of respect for the viewers and paying voters. It's been down hill from there really.

Funnily enough I was just thinking of that task a couple of days ago.

I think the problem I have with it is most if not all the housemates are now picked by their agents or scouted for and although this is nothing new, it's gotten too obvious how fixed it is.

As others have said, too many twists, it would be more of a surprise if there was no twists and also I miss normal nominations,

It annoyed people, but not enough to stop many claiming BB7 as their favourite. It was a year later with BB8 they started to lose the love and interest in the show the public had. So many inept decisions, mixed with a bunch of poor housemates, equalled the show bottoming out.

Id go along with forums, these organised lets all moan and complain to OFCOM brigade who shout bully at every instance and gave ch4 the excuse to cut down on the feed.

I also think despite bb5 being my favourite series it started all this team thing off instead of HMs being seen as a hm on their own.

No, the rot started the moment the bars went up in BB3.

I loved the way they kept going back and forth between their photos on the front of their boxes as they spoke to each other. Could you imagine how they'd handle that nowadays?

To be fair, without the twists this forum would have nothing to talk about because it's the twists that have kept this series going!

I agree with you on the tasks, since it's move to Channel 5 the tasks have been almost amateurish in comparison to the Channel 4 days. In those days there were some awesome tasks!!
