Not sure of your logic OP. You start a thread to complain about Emma telling everyone who watches BBOTS that her children have nits and that this will embarrass them, but, in starting the thread, you are now telling everyone who does not watch BBOTS that Emma's children have nits. Strange.

She only made an off the cuff comment at the end because she is a normal mother, there is nothing embarrassing about having nits most kids get them at some point, schools are riddled with them.

I remember when I was at school, My mother had a attitude of, what dirty cretin did you get that from.

Would drag me inside the house and go on one.

I smash my nonsense out on a HTC smartphone, few mistakes on it due to the awesome android apps I've installed.

Also running a custom rom so I'm so glad I don't have the money to buy an Apple product.

I think most kids will get them on at least one occasion in their school lives. However, I think Emma only realised what she'd said when it was out of her mouth and looked like she wished she hadn't said it.

I remember when Nits meant a drastic hair cut especially for girls

Pity someone did not tell her that headlice do not differentiate between clean or dirty hair! Even children who wash their hair every day can get headlice

Problem is there is no nit nurse anymore. My grandchildren both have very long hair and seemed to have them constantly all the way through primary school. It's only since the youngest one went to high school that they've got rid of them.

Bring back Nitty Nora I say, perhaps Emma made comment about them because she had that lotion on her hair,

I have no idea why everyone is being so grumpy this morning either, hope we don't catch it

More people will have watched that show than read this thread.

As others are saying they are nothing to be ashamed of, jeesh though some mothers in the schools are worse bitches than the kids with regards to nits!

Some parents and myself got a text once of a child's mum, rambling on about her daughter having nits and it must be one of our kids that gave it to her and she was fuming at the cost of the lotion to remove them.

So, I agree Emma should not have made such a flippant remark about it as parents and kids can be quite bitchy about children having them, even though every kid will get them at some point !

I thought it was quite sweet, and made me not feel so sick that my girls had nits this term. God, imagine her being human. What next.

Actually, saying that, the nit comb we bought was endorsed by Jonathan Ross, and bloody good it was too.

Well her kids can't be that old, can they? Didn't we all get nits at primary school?

I had nits as a 12 year old and at 42 I still have nits. Sick if them.

When you were at school you didn't pay enough attention, if your thread title is anything to go by

True, but summer school, creches & activity schools are open.

The reality is that kids are at risk of getting nits whenevr they mix with other kids, especially in hot weather.

It's just one of those things!

My first thought was, aaah that's why she's got her hair slicked back in that way on a sweaty night

OP Nits are not uncommon or a sign of anything other than having nits, schools recommend that kids have treatment at home and continue to go to school as usual. They are a fact of life with kids (and parents due to the kids) and students alike (nit shampoo sells really well here in Bath where we have 2 universities )

Was there not an Admiral Veers in one of the Star Wars films? I think Darth Vader may have killed him in a fit of pique.
Perhaps his descendants needed to be told.

I didn't watch BOTS and genuinely assumed that the OP was trying to include a dig at Rylan by calling him 'Veneers' - or possibly 'Veneers No-One'.
