Do we really 'need' BBOTS ?

I think this show is more important to BB producers than the main show because this is where housemate’s reputations and popularity will be decided by BB producers and panellists.

The whole BBOTS show is geared to ‘persuading ’ viewers to 'get to like' and vote for the person BB has chosen to win and to vote out people BB don't want in the house anymore.

The ‘real’ popularity of housemates is shown in bookmakers markets where BB has no control over who the viewers are backing to win. Chris was the favourite with bookmakers for a very long time yet on BBOTS they didn’t have a good word to say about him. I have also noticed the same pattern with other hm’s at various times. The pattern is always the same…when they were talked about on BBOTS they only received very negative comments yet when you looked at the bookmakers odds they were first or second in the betting. (We also witnessed this with Jim Davidson in CBB in January however, in the end the public won their battle and BB ‘had’ to make Jim their winner) .

personally I don’t think it matters how people cast their vote or, how many people vote for their favourite or how many people use the ‘App’ ……it makes no difference….the winner of Big Brother will be chosen by BB producers and this year it looks like its Winston. So, would BB have to play fair and let the public decide if we didn't have BBOTS?

There are only two days BOTS is even vaguely needed

1)The day the noms announcement is made

2)Eviction night

Other than that it's just full of padding and pointless segments

BBLB has been the only decent spin off show they've ever had - light hearted and brief.

It would be interesting to see public opinion and voting if this show didn't exist.

I agree. It was best when it was Big Brothers little Brother with Avid Merrion in particular. Nowadays its aim is to find the shoutiest studio audience , mislead the public and enhance Rylan's ever growing ego

It would mean the editing on the HLs would be even more severe

The money that goes on

Transmission Costs
Presenter wages
Guest fees
Studio costs
Electricity
Props
Set
Production team

Could all go towards a 24/7 Live Feed.

I too have given up.

It is a tired old formula. Same old faces same old drivel. Not worth staying up for.

I'd rather have BBots than 2 hours of highlights a night.

Could you explain why you think BB producers can be arsed with choosing a winner? To what end? They've got their work cut out trying to put a show together without the wholly pointless hassle of choosing a favourite. Like most conspiracy theories, the idea makes no sense at all. It never has.

Really ? think how much more we could see. With 2 hours of HL's we may be able to actually see normal conversations take place.

Please explain to me how you think the producers are 'trying to put a show together'? I and many others can only see a poorly produced trash fest.

We get this every year. People keep saying that the producers choose the winner. If that was the case then Aaron wouldn't have won BB12, Luke A wouldn't have won BB13 and Sam wouldn't have won BB14.

Must admit I would rather only have BOTS on a Friday and Saturday. One for post eviction nonsense, and the other for the psych nonsense.

Conspiracy theorists tend to overlook pesky little facts like this. Empirical evidence that kind of buggers up their cosy paranoid view of the proceedings.

There have been many BB winners (some successful others not) who go on from winning BB to enter the world of Television and this year some of the housemates would love to win for that very reason, especially as they are on the outskirts of that type of career already. It would be nice to think they ‘all’ had the same opportunity without any form of prejudice from BB.

Exactly. It matters who the winner is for one night only; why would they care about that? Obviously, a certain amount of manipulation goes on, but if anything it's to avoid a situation where a favourite has a clear run to the final, because that doesn't generate votes.
