Ok a bit of a long shot but over the last few days I have heard a song on Heart radio whilst I have been in the car. Never been able to catch who the artist is but I would say he is similar to ed sheeran. Lyrics in the song are something along the lines of love happening in mysterious ways and maybe it happens for a reason. Also a line about wanting to listen to her heartbeat. That's all I can remember I think it is a new single out. Never heard it before this week.

I have heard it played about three times now. Twice just before one in the afternoon and the other occasion was yesterday just before four pm . It was Heart Scotland. I know what you mean about Heart, their playlist is very short, I think this is why this song stood out because it wasn't the usual Pharrell , Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson et al oh and Sam Smith of course.

I am absolutely confident that the song you're thinking of is actually Ed Sheeran. He has a song on the new album called Thinking Out Loud which I think is gonna be the next single, so it makes sense to be on the radio. There are lyrics that go, "And I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways" and "Place your head on my beating heart".
