So far, Charlie is the most interesting character out of the two. He was well acted and in the beginning, well written for, but after the Shelley abuse storyline, despite making references to his past at various times, they paired him with Tracy and he just became uninteresting and poorly written as they wound each other up with childish games. The fact that they couldn't even be bothered to give him a decent exit and decided to just get rid of him as a way of giving Tracy an exit storyline was poor too as it's ended up ruining both characters.

James as a single character isn't particularly interesting, but the family he is in is and his part in it all and the way his sons and Moira and Cain see him interests me. Hopefully as more about Emma comes to light as well, this may make James a bit more interesting and define his character a bit more. In which case if they flesh him out right, they could succeed where Corrie failed.

Charlie Stubbs was infinitely more interesting. But in James's favor, I'd be a miserable git too if I'd just found out that that petulant manchild Adam was my spawn.

They are both bullies but James only has a fraction of Charlie's charisma. Despite knowing how horrible he could be, Charlie was quite multi layered and managed to remain attractive - James just isn't.

Well we don't know much about her but I think James has always said that she just walked out because she was a bad mother but now they've found out that he slept with Moira and Emma knew about it they think James is more to blame for the marriage breakup so resent him for her leaving. $

I think she was just a but stressed and maybe thought her presence would make it worse.

Any progress with this plot so far? James doesn't seem to do anything lately, it'll never work with Cain Dingle there as they give all the lines to him.

I was excited to hear Bill Ward was gonna be joining Emmerdale, but James is a massive disappointment.

They are both irritating by the way they swagger about, and their facial expressions.
The actor portraying them both just used the same mannerisms.
