i phone 4s volume button not working ?

Help my I phone 4s has no ringer volume when someone calls it only vibrates ,the speaker switch doesn't work anymore , ive reset phone to no avail ,and theres no alert sound on messages help please thanks.

Go into Settings --> Sounds and check what it says there.

You can change the ringer sound, volume and other noises it makes there. You can also lock-out the volume buttons so you can't change the ringer or alert volume using them.

Try turning on assistive touch.

Settings
General
Accessibility
Assistive touch,

Then once turned one, tap the White dot, hit device, and deselect mute

Do they same again, or if you play with the settings you can set it up so a triple click on the home button will turn Assistive touch on/off

My OH's phone done this for about 3 months the one day it worked again.

Have you checked the setting I mentioned in post 2 that disables the volume buttons?
