Apple tv

With the Apple tv now being £79 i was wondering if it's worth buying one for the USA channels.
I currently have a ROKU1 which is a cracking piece of kit but it doesn't allow Hulu etc onto the UK menus or iplayer etc on the USA menus, so i was thinking of having the ROKU or my UK streaming and the Apple tv set up for USA, i know you can't get iplayer on Appletv but are things like HULU+ and netflix on Appletv? Also what's the quality like and is it worth £79 or should i get a Android tv box instead?

I've altered my Apple TV to spoof Netflix US. HULU is on your Apple TV, go to menu iTunes Store select US and restart Apple TV. That shows you what you can get, some channels are on there but you need to subscribe to a us TV provider to get them. To access the apple based apps, iTunes Radio etc you need an American iTunes account with a US address, once you revert back to UK and restart the box, all your uk itunes information is retrieved and is still available

Another advantage to the Apple TV for Hulu is that there is a cool little back door into subscribing. Normally Hulu block non-American credit cards, but with the Apple TV, there is a way (you still have to pay, so don't get me wrong).

Essentially, it is via an American iTunes account and testing out the free week's trial, but there are more details here (Signing Up tab).

I got a little work around around that when i signed upto HULU via my roku it gave me 2 months free trial and set up the subscription via my ROKU account, so ROKU take the money from my paypal and give it to hulu for my sub.
I use that eyeondemand site it's a excellent site.

In theory yes, providing they are in a format that ITunes can import and convert. iTunes can cope with most formats.
