Next week: A faith healer calls BS on homeopathy.

She's hardly in a position to cast aspersions on other areas of mumbo-jumbo though, is she?

Just her stating an opinion as 'fact'.

Edit: Psychics could very well be people who have an extremely rare ability to absorb signals given off by someone else and then those signals tell their brain what the other is thinking. It could be this. I dunno, it's the only thing I can think of.

Oh, come on, body language IS a thing.

I don't believe it tells you the whole picture, there can be anomalies and you can choose to be selective over what bits of it you choose to illustrate your findings.

But broadly speaking there's a genuine science behind it.

Psychic ability, however, is total nonsense, quite obviously.

Well to be fair, body language is non fictional, we all display body language in certain situations as a means of communication.

Reading tea leaves and mind reading are of course a complete and utter nonsense.

Not if there's a scientific explanation behind it, like I've explained in my earlier post.

The above is not a scientific explanation!

Psychics are at best deluded people who have an innate ability to pick up the unconscious signals others give off, such as body language, and believe that it is some mystical ability.

At worst they are straight con-artists.

To date no "Psychic" has ever been able to prove that their "abilities" are actually real.

Body language "experts", although not a recognised specialisation do actually base their findings on proven scientific research.

there is absolutely no evidence anywhere supporting psychic readings, fortune telling, communicating with the dead, etc. It is nonsense. (Unless you choose to ignore many, many decades of scientific data, clinical trials, etc) No science behind homeopathy either.

That's where she pushes it into the area of woo, isn't it? She attaches meaning to any random, meaningless move in order to push the producers' chosen narrative.

Ultimately, her approach to 'analysing' body language puts her in a similar relationship that a nutritionist has to a dietician.

Well Body Language is an actual thing and a fact. - However, it's not the 100% instant reading of people that these so-called experts make it out to be.

Psychics on the other hand are all 100% fake and always will be. It's not even debatable.

You've explained nothing. You used words like "giving off" and "signals" and a whole range of complete nonsense.

just like a psychic does.

She was talking about Mark, which is right his Physic powers is nonsense.

Body language refers to the corporeal, which is physically present and available for comment and interpretation.

Psychic powers refer to the incorporeal, which has no material existence.

Ergo body language can be up for debate, whereas psychic powers are mumbo-jumbo.

Was funny hearing Mark tell Christopher he has a closed mind when trying to read him, the go to response when psychics balls up.

That's the thing: There isn't. Nor is there any scientific evidence for psychic abilities.

Furthermore, there is a 1 million dollar prize for anyone who can demonstrate psychic powers in a scientifically controlled (as in, no cold reading, no prior knowledge of subject, everything fair, etc) test - Think it's the James Randi educational foundation or something.

The prize has not been claimed.

Come on now - When Mark asked Chris to think of a country he guessed it was Italy. Explain that. Maybe Mark will be £1,005,000 better off when he leaves the house. Also, when he was projecting an Indian animal with four legs and stripes I WAS THINKING TIGER!!!

To be fair, I'm surprised it's taken this long for someone either in the house or on BOTS to call Mark's "abilities" nonsense. It's exactly what they are. Maybe if Mark focused his energy on becoming a more decent, less contrived and annoying person he'd do better in the game that is Big Brother.

Hehe, I've gotta admit he nearly had me convinced and if he'd picked the correct number between 1 and 4 that Christopher was thinking about, I'd be a convert

I am a psychic ,well respected amongst my peers, and we all agree that mark is a total fraud and an embarrassment to the psychic community.

No sign of him predicting his nose-dive in popularity yet. Maybe his future is so bright that it blinds him? This time next year he could be on Coach Trip or something even bigger.

Back in week 2 or 3 Mark nommed Chris and the reason he gave was because he said Chris had said his psycjhic abilities were BS
