The Barton Sons

I am a huge fan of the Barton sons, love the dynamic between Ross, Pete and Finn. I would also of said Adam a year or so ago. I am hoping they can salvage the loveable Adam that was here when Aaron was in the village. This h=man with so much hatred we have today is just ruining what was a good character.

Anyway i am not a fan of James. I much prefer each of the sons relationship with Cain and Moira. In a perfect world we would have Moira and Cain with the Barton sons on the show and bye bye James.

Anyway i digress as i only started this thread after loving the scenes during Finns recent storyline, Loved seeing Ross and Pete so protective of Finn. Long may these scenes continue.

Finn is the saving grace of the boys. Seeing Ross, Pete and even Adam show concern for him after his ordeal is very heartwarming and nice to see. This is because Finn is so likable and the producers using him to bring out a softer side to the other boys is very smart.

Ross is a really, really good character. The Donna storyline is fantastic and has shown how multi-dimensional he is and how capable the actor is.

Pete is nothing without his reactions to the others. Pairing him with Debbie is a bad move and wont do much good for his likability. He is a complete non-entity and will be long forgotten in a few years once the actor gets bored of doing nothing.

Adam has become very unlikable for his character progression and storyline. Aaron's return will hopefully be to facilitate returning him to the character he once was. Maybe if his sisters were brought back... (on second thought, maybe just the younger one!!), then we'll see a more likable Adam.

Moira is a strong head-of-the-family figure, and Cain fits in with this really well. James, however, has been a complete flop in my opinion. He really drags the family down as he has absolutely no charisma, no chemistry with any of the other actors or characters, and seems rather creepy with his shuffly-swagger and enormous clothes.

They've got it spot on with Finn and Ross though. They should continue playing to that strength and utilise this more.

yes i hope they do continue with the Ross/Finn dynamic. It does need utilsing more. From the very start they have built a strong Ross/Finn bond right from when Finn and Pete first spotted Ross at Buttlers farm and only Finn hugged him and seemed excited.

Shows Finn and Donna are the only one that can get through to Ross nice side when Ross didnt persue messing Victoria aside because Finn asked him not to, As a favour to him.

Ross reaction to his brother being angry at him over the whole "checking on the man he beat up" in hospital seemed genuinely gutted that Finn banned him from his party. Now the whole reaction to Finn being attacked and how devastated Ross was when he thought Finn would die or had been raped. I hope Ross looking out for Finn continues and when Ross needs someone further down the line with the whole Donna dying storyline, that Finn can be there for him. I look forward to Ross/Finn scenes after Donna has gone. I must point out i love Ross/Donna and kind of wish a miracle cure could be found so it doesnt have to end.

The writers got this down perfect for Finn/Ross. Same with Pete being like a dad to Finn more than James is. I loved him checking on him after the whole adam thing blew up and so cute when they hugged. The Pete/Ross dynamic is great too.

I would be happy for James to leave and the Barton sons to either flat share. Think that would be a good thing, or at the very least stay on at the farm.

Agreed, I'm really liking the dynamic between the Barton brothers and I find the show very watchable because of their presence. I've been enjoying their recent storylines (mainly Ross and Donn's storyline). I have to admit I didn't like Ross all that much when he first arrived as he came across as nothing more than a troublemaking sleazebag with a big mouth, but he's grown on me fast and he's my favourite "bad boy" character at the moment. He's like a perfect blend of "Nasty Cain" and "Nice Cain", which makes the character very multi-dimensional and interesting to watch for me. He's not a one-note villain, which use to be my problem with Cain.

Finn is the family nerd and the most likeable of the lot. I agree, I enjoy his bond with Ross and they come across as real brothers. (Reminds me of my own relationship with my brothers actually)

As for Pete, I pretty much agree with what Tom_Stockton said. I find his character dull in every way, although I imagine he is meant to be as he's suppose to be the total opposite of Ross. He only works well with his brothers as he provides a good dynamic with Ross.

Adam is just a completely loathersome creature. Not much else to say about him. Never liked him, but now he's just an unbearable emo with daddy/mummy issues. I loved it when Ross made him think they were robbing that shop and came back with a crisp or something .

Yeah, I'd be much happier if Joe 90 had been murdered for real.

I'm starting to think Leo Sayer with the yellow teeth is all hot air and trousers.

We need Ross and Finn and possibly Pete to house share. Think that would really make a good set up. Plus get Ross and Finn in the tightest pants going. Also more Finn/VIctoria scenes.

I am so shipping Ross/Donna and Finn/Robbie at the moment. Shane Kate Oates said Finn/Robbie wont happen.

Anyone would think we watch for purely venal reasons.

I still feel pretty much the same about the Bartons as when they first came in. Ross is a fantastic bad boy, and the Donna story has given him loads more depth. Finn is lovely and really came into his own with those scenes in the hospital with Victoria. But he was great with Robbie as well.

Pete is just dull really. Sorry Pete!

I liked Finn when he started but god he's bugging me now. I mean for someone who has been to university he's very thick.

I'm with you UQ, I don't particularly get all this love for the Finn character. I personally don't give a toss about him, the other brothers are OK though even Adam

Got to say Leo Sayer with the yellow teeth and his wandering mouth which doesn't know which direction it speaketh. Should he talk out the left, or the right side of his gob? He has done a rubbish job threatening people so far AND he appears to be doing all of this scaring alone, apart from "Brad" why don't they just get Debbie involved? She will soon have him crapping himself while he watches on in terror after just being told to get lost she will hobble away in those massive platform shoes and he will breathe a sigh of relief.

The poor bloke doesn't know what danger he's in threatening to Ross that he could get at Debbie and her kids

Great to see so much praise for Hot Ross (a great character; a bonus that he happens to be as sexy as hell!!)

Tom_Stockton and madge's posts are spot on, too. And I have no objections to madge's suggestion that Ross and Finn are featured wearing tight pants!

Not a fan of James, though. And Farmer Pete needs to get away from the vile Debbie. He should have been paired up with much more human and likeable Vanessa Vet; both could do with more storylines.

Yeah hotRoss needs more recognition. He is not just someone who lives up to his hot ross name but the actor is brilliant. I want more Ross/FInn scenes.
