KFC fries
Been out on the road a lot this week so treated myself to a rare lunch a couple of times. Monday Burger King (whopper and fries) which wad delicious, and today a KFC. But wtf has happened to their fries. They taste absolutely horrible. They are like warm and soggy.
anyone else had this experience or have i just been unlucky? |

I had some KFC with fries at the KFC at the White Rose Shopping Centre, normally one of the better ones, but the fries were awful I agree, yes warm, not hot, and not crispy at all like they use to be. Don't go to KFC that much these days and have been disappointed the last few times.
Went to one in Manchester a few months ago and some of the chicken was very greasy and some very dry as though it had been double fried at least. Had bougth it and driven a short distance before eating it |

I'm not a regular patron of theirs but I've been a few times over the years and never not had chips that were limp and lukewarm. I assumed that was just their poor standard.

Their fries are just there as gravy shovels (for me at least)

Burger King fries on the other hand were delicious, not under done, were crispy and golden brown.

KFC have never done nice fries. You've not been unlucky, sounds pretty standard to me.

The local KFC changed their chips around a year back. They used to be thin cut chips, or thick fries, but now they are just the same as McD.
I don't go their often so couldn't really say about the quality. The first time I had them they seemed ok. |

They are pretty rank. They don't even put salt on them anymore.

Maybe it varies from store to store, but the last couple of times I have had KFC the fries have been noticeably better than they used to be.

KFC's chips have always been rotten IMO, its like they are undercooked or something, just warm and soggy as mentioned. McDonalds do the best fries in my opinion, always nice and crispy.

Stodgy and dry, Mccains micro chips are better.

KFC in my area do better fries than MacDonalds. At least you can taste the potato in them and they re always crisp and dry, Unlike MacDonalds which are sometimes lukewarm or even cold.

As above, dont have them often but have alway been thin, crisp, dry & red hot - and thats after driving home with them about 3 miles. Must depend which shop I suppose.

It must depend on the shop. Our local one was advertising "new improved" fries a while ago and they were a lot better and crispier.
The shops definitely vary. A while back I was in one and my mate asked for one of the special limited edition things they advertise on TV and he was told that this particular shop can't do them because this particular thing has to be freshly breaded and this store gets everything in pre-breaded and frozen. |

Hmmm.... their adverts were all about fresh chicken being delivered. Saying that I haven't seen them on telly for a while. I wonder if advertsing standards got involved or they're just breaking their own rules.

I wonder if they meant only for the chicken pieces? A bit of dodgy advertising if so.
