Just count how many times Patrick says "fella" during each live show, it's usually in double figures!

About the same number of times he makes tacky/sleazy sexual innuendos.

Cat's nearly as bad, saying "lady" every 5 minutes

Not to mention her constantly calling every man "Sir".

Well played, fella...

Last time he used to say 'missus' before, which was really irritating, but I haven't noticed it this time..??

He's said 'missus' quite a few times I think, but the 'fella', 'matey' and similar are really starting to get on my nerves.

It's his "easy now" that gets my goat.

And - "Good evening Lovely People"

I think he stole the *Lovely People* thing off Graham Norton...

Patrick annoys me when he says *Give it up for*...

But I'm from Northern Ireland as well, and I have a soft spot for the big lad. His father was murdered by terrorists, but he was able to make people on both sides of the divide over here laugh at the politicians and issues. He was at his best when he was doing his topical comdey shows over here.

Has anyone else noticed that he looks like Chris Tarrant on the BBC FA site?

I loved his late night chat show,
I don't think FA lets us see just how funny he is

He does come across as a bit corny

No, but it's funny how Tarrant completley evades any criticism for stratospherically over-used phrases like 'it's good here isn't it' 'give me that back' and 'we laugh in the face of 32,000 pounds' because people's mouths are drooling at good old hard cash.

Poor old Kielty does a two week charity show, and the knives are out already!

Give the 'fella' a break, he's quite a funny guy really!

Richard has had him summed up quite a few times in my view. It shocks me the BBC do not have someone else to host such a big show.

I've never understood the criticism Paddy comes in for from some FA fans. Don't think the show could have asked for a better host over the four series, and I generally think he's been in the right when defending the students and standing up to the name-dropper extraordinaire.

Maybe it is right to defend the students, but it is much more effective if you come up with a clever or funny retort.

Another one is during the Student vote, Kim going into the circle, shaking her head and saying "it's so hard" with a sincere yet constipated look on her face.

Is Pat on any other tv/radio show now, or is FA his only gig these days ?

Paddy is more of a live preformer than a TV host. Having seen the full unedited version of an "Almost Live" show with Harry Enfield, I just can't stand him as a presenter any more. In fact that night even a young actress from Neighbours told him to f**k off.

He is currently trying to make it big in America, but according to last nights Belfast Tele he still hasn't signed any contracts, this is over a year after leaving BBC NI.

Leave PADDY alone, he's doing a great job with Cat. Somebody has got to be there to field the flack that PARK throws at them from nowhere, half the time.

I have to agree with a previous post though, when will Kim realise we are not fooled by her shocked look everytime she gets a good comment or wins the viewers vote. GIve it up Kim!!!

GO EDITH or ADE!!

I've watched it like you from the start Nick, nice to be in the same thread again by the way, we had some good debates in FA1.

The thing I hate about Patrick is that he thinks he's entitled to debate every comment with Richard, who may be frequently wrong, but at least he has different opinions, not that everybody here loved it.

Another golden opportunity for the large majority of FA fans to have a go. IMO, he's a good all rounder kind of guy, who's good at what he does. I don't see why he is so hated. But i'm sure people will spell it out for me, just in case the point hasn't been made any clearer. As for sticking up for the celebs, isn't that literally what it says in his contract?

I actually think he's quite good. He's presented an awful lot of shows, and I feel anyone else would have grown annoying in their own way. He takes the thing with Richard too far, but I enjoy it at times.
