Boring.

Suppose it adds more tension for when Ben returns though

So much for Saint Shirl's concern for Sharon and disgust at Phil

I knew this would happen.

Phil cares for nobody but himself.

Both ladies do so much better than him. If I was a Sharon and/or Shirley fan I wouldn't want them any where near him.

I'm surprised this started during the revenge plot - which will make this ever more interesting.

It's not that Sharon even LIKES Phil anymore, let alone loves him...

True. I'm not sure she'd even care if she found out. Maybe it would make her angry that he's lying to her again but I think she's past the point of giving a damn if he's her man or not.

Absolutely delighted about this simply because it gives Sharon more ammunition.

Sharon will probably discover the truth just as she is about to give up and it will spur her on even more.

This is turning into one twisted rollercoaster of a show and I'm loving every second of it.

Didn't we already know about this?

I'm sure it was revealed a few weeks ago that Sharon discovers the affair and keeps quiet and it just adds more ammunition to her plans?

But if this affair puts a 100% kibosh on Phil/Sharon then I'm all for it. They never should've been put together after her return. Hopefully this is the end of them once and for all.

Then I suppose there's only so many stories each can have and when Phil is one of the few characters who has history with Sharon it's always going to hang there as a possible plot.

I am glad it didn't happen when others said it would ie xmas, easter etc. I wouldn't have liked it then.
But now Sharon is completely unaffectionate, not wanting him to touch her and making excuses not to sleep with him I find it hilarious. Sharon getting revenge on Phil means after she has taken everything he will be living off Shirley's charity. So not only will she be a doormat as lets face he has given her nothing but crap and if he loved her he would leave Sharon. But now he will be living off her. Phil deserves that and the gutter. They will look like the bad ones and Sharon will own everything Phil owns. Brilliant. Take your doormat and enjoy the gutter Phil. Sharon isn't a doormat so unlike who accepts a man playing around and treating her like crap Sharon doesn't. Sharon will run your businesses far better than you ever did

Let's face it, it's Phil. He'll somehow end up on top again.

Especially if it's written as inconsistently as Roxy's millions.

It's good news for Sharon, it will give her more ammo and hopefully build a stronger character along the way, I still want something else to royally f*ck him over though...I think it be a let down if it's simply rinsing him or backing out last minute.

As for Shirley's character I think this does her a disservice, backward development, he treats her like dogshit most of the time and he use her for sex and still keep treating her like rubbish without having any intention of dumping Sharon.

Ultimately with Ben's return it will most likely put the kaput on things...it's certainly going to be a eventful September.

The problem with mona is not that she wasn't right but that she used highly contorted logic to prove she was right. Her line of reasoning was what was wrong not necessarily her conclusions.

Shirley has to be the most pathetic woman in Walford. I'm sure that if she caught Phil with a bloody axe and the bodies of her entire family at his feet she would still beg him to love her.

I get the feeling that this 'Mona' put a lot of people of Phil and Shirley. To be honest I'm OK with this, depending on how it is handled, if they show that Phil does actually love Shirley then this will progress the relationship. Just so long as Shirley doesn't end up the fool and it isn't her chasing him. Phil and Shirley are a match made in hell but they always end up entwined in each others worlds, its the 'can't live with, can't live without' scenario. I can't see DTC ruining Shirley? He has redeemed Sharon, quite rightly so, so I can't see he would make Shirley, Phil's doormat. Again I'm happy enough if it plays out well. Evidently as the affair plays out before the wedding, that puts the rebound theory to bed. I actually think it was been made pretty clear that Phil has been disillusioned with Sharon for a while and that he does love Shirley, I think it just needs to be made clearer for those who won't accept it. Seen has most comments on FB/Twitter are pro Phil/Shirley, I think it will go down well. The wedding is going to be eventful..

Only a few weeks ago Phil pushed Shirley against a wall and threatened to reveal a personal secret that could destroy her relationship with her firstborn child. She knows he is responsible for putting Sharon in hospital. If Shirley resumes her relationship with Phil how can she be anything other than a fool and a doormat?

I think that is looking at it very black and white, Phil felt threatened and did was he always does, you have to remember all the scenes they shared prior to that and the fact that he did go to her at Christmas before Sharon. This is why I want to wait for it to play out on screen, I like Shirley and would hate for her to look a fool again but if it plays out well, it could work. I think a few Sharon fans also dislike the idea because it does shown that Phil really is torn between the two. So long as Phil doesn't use Shirley. It amazes me how much Phil and Shirley are talked about, at the end of the day that's what EastEnders wants. They are very popular outside of here so it was obvious something would happen. I have faith in DTC to not make Shirley a doormat this time, please.

How could it play out other than making her look a fool... Phil doesn't want Sharon to find out; clearly he still wants to marry Sharon. So effectively Shirley is happy to be Phil's bit on the side.

There's no fool like an old haggered fool.
