I don't think she has much standards

a bottle of vodka seems to work a treat.
It takes a bottle to.... satisfy her? Poor Phil.

It's not the most glamorous love triangle that I've ever watched. Like a horrible version of Twilight!
Haha! I actually find this more interesting than say the Whitney/Lee/Lucy triangle. Its got substance and other things coming into play alongside it.

They were a sweet old couple though.
The writing for Dot and Jim was sublime. I remember a 2001 episode with them at the millennium wheel and it was beautifully done.

Oh that's true. Mind you, licking tarmac is more interesting than Whit/Lee/Lucy though!

Heh you've made me picture Taylor Lautner in full Sharon get-up telling Bella that 'he ain't nobody's rebound' with a big pout, dramatically turning his back on her and flouncing off into the woods.

That was Tina I think..she said did something die in there!

the woman likes sleeping on dirty pavements and on park benches two seconds from her home, I don't think she has much standards, pretty low maintenance, a bottle of vodka seems to work a treat.
To be fair to Shirley I don't have any standards when I've had vodka either.

Yep he will. I just can't see Shirley forgiving Phil for killing Heather. Maybe in future but not that quickly. I wonder if TPTB realised that Sharon doesn't work with Phil. She's better off without Phil. Shirley is fine if she's with Phil because she has her own family now.
I don't see how they're meant to get past Ben. Phil's not going to disown him. Is Shirley going to pat him on the head and tell him he's a good boy really who made a mistake? Would cause a bit of tension between Phil and Shirley. He's not going to like her snarling at Ben all the time is he?

The young people are pretty to watch, but it's the oldies that are more intriguing...Pat/Frank, Dot/Jim, Phil/Shirley, Patrick/Pat, Jean/Ollie etc. I even loved that scene with Billy and Honey (I hope she comes back for him )

Haha, then he has to go as his sons in the kitchen eating a biscuit!

Yet again TPTB totally destroy a character (like so many before her) to maintain their disturbing worship of the King of Philth.

Shirley would not touch the twisted bastard with a bargepole after all the misery he has caused for her and her family.

By the way why was Mick not allowed to hit Philth when he sold them the pub with rising damp?

It makes me sick.

Will the fat f****r still be 'owning' people into his 90's and still have all the women fighting over the 21 century's only living Australopithecus?

Disgusting.

That's not fair, Australopithecus are far more sexy than Phil...

Very true - and far more intelligent and well mannered as well.

There is a thread on the new dinosaur extinction paper on General (not started by me although I mentioned it on my Palaeo thread) - but some people are so bloody clueless it really irritates me!

Indeed.

The one that gets me is "if humans are descended from chimpanzees why are there still chimpanzees alive?". They don't understand it's common ancestry that we share.

There have been a few creationists on my Palaeo thread but I gave their arses a f****g severe kicking and they did not last very long - scientific empirical evidence really hurts their tiny brains.

Do we really have to go through this again, I find it very tedious. Shirley already has her secret son plot, her relationship with Dean plot and the mystery surrounding her mother. Do we really need another affair plot too?

I think it'll be good with Ben returning, Sharon's revenge and I love the chemistry between Linda Henry and Steve Mcfadden (which is one of the reasons I still like them, even with the past history). When Sharon finds out, it will give her more ammunition for her revenge and hopefully Phil will finally admit he loves Shirley. If not, then pffftt.

The stories that you have listed above will affect all of the Carter clan.

Got some good drama coming up from now until Christmas!

I just want Sharon to be her own person now. Many casual viewers think of Sharon as "Phil's girlfriend" and they dislike her because she's "replacing" Shirley in the Mitchell household. But It's good news for all involved really. I would actually like Phil and Shirley again if Phil treats her nicely. But this is EE so I bet there will be lots more problems for Phil and Shirley in future.

I agree. Phil and Shirley are not a good couple.

Is it really a surprise? The show has been build around Shirley ever since DTC took over. This constant shoehorning will only get worse until DTC leaves in a few years.

You are right, actually. I can only take Shirley in small doses. I like her family but Shirley is a miserable person so I can't take to her.

I'm not looking forward to this affair plot. Hopefully, it lasts just until the wedding.
