The tagline on ITV Player for Coronation Street is

"Coronation Street

'Coronation Street' is the story of working people and the city street in which they live. The show has been seen all around the world and has remained in the top viewing ratings throughout its long lifetime."

Which makes me wonder which countries actually show it outside the UK. I've heard of it being shown in Canada on CBC, know that it is shown on TV3 in Ireland as that channel is practically ITV Ireland anyway and is pretty closely related in culture to its immediate neighbour which almost goes without saying, but with my motorised satellite dish where I can get lots of European countries' main broadcasters and Russian/Middle East/North African ones too I have never seen Coronation Street dubbed into another language as I commonly see US series. Is it shown in Australia/New Zealand or in the US at all?

It is shown in Australia on weekday afternoons on channel 7TWO. However, it's several years behind. I watched an episode last week and Charlie Stubbs was still alive.

It's also shown on Foxtel BBCUK, where it's a bit more up to date: it's just been found out that Andrea is married. Emmerdale and Eastenders are also aired daily. Of course you have to pay for this, it's the equivalent of Sky.

Corrie is also shown in New Zealand and Canada, the actors who play Tyrone and Kirk have just returned from a promotional tour of Canada.

A slight exaggeration.
The statement " has been seen all around the world" isn't really true and "has remained in the top viewing ratings" may be true of the UK but nowhere else

I have a friend in Australia who's a huge fan, but he likes to know what's going to happen, so he reads our episode updates on corrie.net and then annoys all his friends with "predictions" and knowing looks when a story unfolds there. I'm surprised he still has friends!

Yeah I used to do that too here in New Zealand...of course the gap has gotten so wide now (two years) that everyone just ends up looking up the internet for spoilers.

Malta ... although I've been watching online and recently caught up to UK pace ...nice to be up to date when you go on forums.

In Malta they are currently showing the episodes where Paul the fireman is accused of being racist

I'm not sure but Swedish band The Cardigans did release an album called Emmerdale so it must have some fans over in Sweden!

It's simulcast live in Ireland by TV3 and they also show an omnibus of all five episodes at the weekend.

TV3 recently mistakenly put an episode up on their Player which hadn't even been shown on ITV yet.......apparently ITV is supposed to have the world exclusive on all episodes and they can only be simulcast live at best or shown at a later date in other countries (the same applies to Eastenders and Emmerdale).

I believe the US website Hulu (which is not available anywhere else) started showing episodes of Corrie very recently - I'd like to say from last December but I could be wrong...
