Moto G LTE and Kitkat 4.4.4 update. Broken my phone.
Terry Wigon

Please help. I bought a Moto G last month and am really pleased with it. Unfortunately on Tuesday I upgraded to Kitkat 4.4.4. BIG mistake. Everything has changed. My phone gets very hot, seems to use more battery and worst of all, it has rendered my SD card useless and says it is corrupted. (The reason I bought 4g lte was because of the expandable memory.)

The SD card works in an adapter in my laptop and I have since read that this update makes changes to the phone that are irreversible.

Can anyone help? Is it possible to roll back to a previous version? Should I just take it back to the shop as it's within 28 days and ask for a new one and just don't download kItkat 4.4? I'm upset about it as I loved the phone and it was everything I wanted. Now it's just useless to me.

Thanks, in advance.

Factory reset and if the SD card is a class 10 its a known issue

Yes, the irony was that the class 10 microsim worked fine until the update. Did a factory reset but no joy with the SD. I am taking the phone back for a refund and getting another - but I will not be updating to 4.4.4 until the issue is sorted. REALLY annoying.

You can get a 32G card for just over £10.

BTW did you run a fake test on the card?

Motorola support now list a software release 21.1.46 which is Android 4.4.4 plus a fix for class 10 SD compatibility.

Android 4.4.4 fixes that issue.

I've seen a few people report issues with the 4.4.4 upgrade. I'm lucky as it seemed to go well for me and my 23 GB card now works correctly.
