HDMI over Cat6 - Alternatives to Neet products?

Hi

I recently bought a Neet HDMI over Cat6 extender - baluns, IR receiver etc - but admittedly didnt read the small print that stated it needs TWO runs of ethernet cable to operate. I only have one run between the origin (Sky Box) and the destination (TV in the kitchen).

Can anyone recommend a similarly priced alternative that only relies on a single Cat6?

Ideally I'd like a receiver behind the TV that doesnt need power either, but thats not a deal breaker

Many thanks

They all need twin cat5/6 cables. Afaik one cable hasn't enough conductors.

A receiver without some sort of power source is impossible.

This one does HDMI over a single CAT6 cable.

Not cheap though (£165 - with CPC the first price is ex-VAT and the price in brackets is inc-VAT) There are links to the user manual on that page.

is it not easier for you to just run a second cat6 cable?

As he's found out, single cable ones are VERY much more expensive.

However, what's due very shortly (we had an invite to a presentation earlier this week) is a multi way HDMI to CAT5e/6 matrix switch (four in four out). I presume it's going to be pricey?, but looks like it would solve a great many posts on these forums:

Not much info on there yet, couple of pictures, and that's your lot.

HDMI cable up to 25 metre works well with powered splitter

maybe a cheaper and easier alternative
