Linda Carter should be married to someone else.

I have an idea as to why Linda could be turning down Mick. We know that they are childhood sweethearts who have been together since they were 12 but they aren't husband and wife as they have us believe. However, in keeping with the Carters' tradition of secrets perhaps Linda is married. Maybe, when she was 16, her family moved away to Watford after their pub was burnt in Canning Town. AT the time, Linda was a young mum with a baby who was a couple of months old. Mick wanted to stay in Canning Town because of his family and couldn't leave them. So they broke up and Linda was in a relationship with a guy who was a few years her senior. Linda (being the dozy mare she is) married him in Gretna Green after three months of being in a relationship with this man because she couldn't afford to look after Lee alone. However, she was having an affair with Mick and the man she married was a drunk. Linda was pregnant to Nancy - Mick's baby - so she left her husband and returned to Mick where they 'committed'. However, Mick doesn't know that Linda actually married the man who she was 'with'. Whilst I love the fact that Linda and Mick are madly in love teenage sweethearts, perhaps it could be a veneer. Perhaps, that it why Linda cannot marry Mick. Why else? She loves him but wouldn't break the law.

This idea is so effing stupid it's probably exactly what the writers have in mind.
