Currently catching up on Hollyoaks with the wedding and aftermath episodes which are brilliant, but why did they need to intertwine the amazing scenes with the pointless rubbish with Freddie and Mercedes??! Surely the rubbish of Mercy buying shares in the club could have easily waited until next week. Their scenes keep ruining the flow of what could be truly incredible episodes.

I agree. The Loft related stuff/Mercedes & Freddie stuff bores me at the best of times, but it really did take away some of the impact of the wedding episodes I thought.

I also didn't like how they had Maxine finally getting away from Patrick only to declare her love to Dodger two seconds later. I felt that should have come a few weeks down the line. You can't go through what Maxine has and be already thinking about your next relationship minutes later. If anything you'd be wary of getting involved with someone else, let alone the son of the man who has beat you black and blue for months.

Hollyoaks tackle issues well, but their aftermaths tend to be a bit hit and miss.

Fully agree, thread title sums it up well

There was far too much Freddie/Mercedes/Grace/Trevor already imo, but the post-wedding episode was really poorly handled as it seemed the Patrick/Maxine story line took a back seat to their dealings at the loft!

Even the Jason/Holly scenes on the actual wedding day seemed horribly out of place and needless.

I read this as "Hollyoaks wedding/aftermath episodes ruined by Freddie Mercury!" at first, I was thinking "what?!"
