Sounds good and something we always want for our mobile devices.
The only problem to me is that what the small print omits is the fact that, in my calculation, the capacity of the capacitor will be one tenth of the equivalent battery.

So how many want a 250mah, at very best, AA battery that charges in 30 seconds for $25 when putting 250mah into a 2500mah AA battery takes 90 seconds(maybe far less) with a 15 minute charger?

?
I'm no expert on these things, but what is the basis of your calculation ? He does say in the video that it has the same capacity as a similar sized regular battery. That's a pretty serious porkie in my opinion (particularly when raising funding) if what you say is true.

I'm not either but as you well know, I go with published data.
And that seems to tell me energy capacity per litre is about one tenth for lithium capacitors compared to NiMh or Lithium Ion.

And I even ignored the fact that both charging and voltage reduction circuity will fill up a big part of that capacitor AA. (25% ?)

But you are right, you only give enough data to get the punters money in kickstarter.
I class it as a con, though I class most half price stuff in the shops as a con too.

Apparently the claim was 1150mah !

My optimistic maximum might be wrong. Someone else calculated it at 35mah.

An easy 10,000 bucks but what on earth will he send out ? Anything ?

Hmm so now it's a Graphine capacitor (not Lithium Ion), using a secret formula he'll provide to the battery manufacturer....

It's surpassed it's Kickstarter funding goal, so he'll get the cash, unless Kickstarter pull it.

They'll probably pull it, or he'll go to prison for fraud if they pay out. Can't see them doing that though.

Umm isn't that around 150+ Amps off the top of my head needed to charge something like that? Let's not even talk about where that will come from but just the heat generated from that will be fun..

I'd like it to be real but the what I learned from Uni says differently.
