Well, he's definetley been little more than a board room 'yes man' for most of his career. I think he truely believes he's found a popularist 'niche' (Simon Cowell Style) with FA.

I think that the problem is he wants it so much at the moment (FA series 3 unconfirmed) that his boardroom ego resounds.

It's a shame, given his self proclaimed 'deep' understanding of the industry and show format that he doesn't seem to understand the function of a show 'host' and (most probably) 'producer'.

Notice how it means so much more when the students get a good review from Richard. Thats why he does not just "suck up" to the celebritys.

As for those wanting Kielty to get one over on Richard......I very much doubt it!

He's an easy target for the DS lynch mob isn't he? The point about him is that he makes such a significant contribution to the program because he is the only one who aisn't prepared to a*se lick to the "popular" people. I think his judgement is nearly always right, but when the feelgood atmosphere is so heady it's difficult not to get swept along, but you can always rely on Richard to tell it how it is. Integrity seems to be something that's lost on so many people...or turned into "arrogance". I think he's quite brave to face the baying mob...and he's doing it for charidee too you know!

When Richard Park says you've done well...then you probably have. When Sychophants R Us United Together say you've done well...then it means sod all!

For those who cannot recognize real bullies...it's Kielty, not Park. Creep.

The fuller critiques on good days seem to actually get it right. Bad days its just too negative. David and Carrie were wondering today if 2 judges would be on PMT tonight and then pointed out that the only one who could be wouldn't be.

The really annoying thing I find though is all those times he accuses anyone who sings softly as being poor - probably because he can't hear it.
