I think Eastenders is improved greatly and his assertions that BBC2 could be a frightening vision of its future home borders on being absurd. It is one of BBC's flagship shows.

Well, it's not a review, it's just a sarky summary of the week. He doesn't actually say if he liked the episodes or not?

I hate these so-called reviews. They're recaps with a few "spot them a mile away" jokes thrown in.

If the ratings keep going down, it could be shunted to BBC2 more often. Five years ago the show would only fall below 6m against emmerdale or Britain's got talent. Now 4.8m is considered as really good for bbc2, which is only 1m less than it achieved a couple of weeks ago in a non-competitive bbc1 slot.

EastEnders on BBC Two was rating higher than what the sport was for the same slot on BBC One so its move really wasn't justified as more people still chose EE over the commonwealth games.

In 2006, EastEnders hit its lowest ever rating. Yet despite a lot of competition this year it never managed to go that low. That's a sign EE is in a much better shape than people would like to admit.

EastEnders will not be moved to BBC2 permanently. It's just not going to happen.

All of the soaps' ratings are down. Even Corrie is hovering around 6m at the moment. EastEnders ratings are far from disastrous.

Can you think of another show that would bring BBC1 the EE ratings four times a week in that timeslot?

No. It's not going anywhere.
