Fast forward to this week after a bit of rabble rousing saying people should be outraged by what she said and she is public enemy number one being evicted and booed.

It's echoes when the DM told people they should be outraged with Russell Brand & Jonathan Ross over Sachsgate (which was admittedly a pretty shitty thing to do) yet nobody seemed bothered with when it actually happened a week earlier.”

The Daily Mail is the best selling daily paper in the UK.

BB is one of the least watched programmes in the UK

No comparison

So what do you think about the Daily Mail?

The truth is Zoe was one of the nicest most unoffensive people in BB this year who didn't seem to have a bad bone in her body, didn't bitch about anyone, didn't pick on anyone or talk smack behind peoples backs like most of the others do... yet because we were told we should be offended by an out of context at best, misguided at worst comment she made she was vilified evicted & booed.

I feel sheepish just being a witness to it all ”

It's never very polite to jeer at and pass judgment on other people just because they didn't vote the way you hoped. I am not sure which of the three evictees you saw as bad and bitchy, but people obviously didn't agree with you.

Where do you imagine the rabble rousers address their sheep? On BBOTS, which has about a third the viewing figures of BB? Or on here, perhaps, which probably has less than 100th as many people? Or could it be that people just voted because they had watched BB and formed an opionion, and that you are not actually the only viewer capable of independent thought?

Oooh I don't think it is. I once watched a (terrestrial) programme which had official viewing figures of zero. The Mail is not the best selling paper btw; it has the most viewed website, but the Sun still has more paper readers.

I couldn't say, but I'd say making sweeping generalisations about groups of people is quite Daily Mail-ish.

So people are only sheep when they don't jump on your bandwagon?

You are right, it is the second highest selling newspaper.

The only other comment people seemed to take offense to came days after the 'get evil Tesco bashing Zoe out' campaign started, and was when SHE WAS TRYING TO HELP THEM WIN THE TASK by innocently saying that maybe she may be a bit further up the line because of her interesting stories... in the most interesting housemate poll.
And this little thing gave the sheep an opportunity to not feel so sheeplike and say 'see I knew she was stuck up' in their little sheepy minds

You could even tell that Emma was embarrassed that she had to tell Zoe she was voted out because of a single comment that she obviously didn't mean maliciously. Her only other reasoning was Ashleigh's excuse that Zoe was too happy all the time, which she later conceded to Rylan was a crock of sh*t considering people have been complaining that this series has been too miserable & nasty.

when you put it like that it does all seem ridiculous doesn't it?

Zoe was the sacrificial lamb this week to save Chris as Jale was a few weeks ago to save Ashleigh.

Zoe didn't offend me in the slightest. I do think she's genuinely a nice person. The way characters are assassinated to manipulate the programme dynamics is getting ridiculous I agree.

At it gets closer to the end, anyone more popular than your fave has to go. So bashing the others happens but it goes too far when it is a campaign by the channel

If us plebs do it, understandable, but not producers and presenter.

I strongly disagree with the idea that Chris is a creep and feel sorry for some people who can't look beyond this strange obsession with the fact that Chris is a man and Ashleigh is a woman and therefore they can't be around each other. Perhaps the world has just become way too focused on sex or something. I'm only a young'un myself.. but would find absolutely nothing wrong with being friends with an older person, male or female, in the Big Brother house and I'd also attempt to learn from them as a person if I could.. because humility in such situations is, in my opinion, an admirable trait.

EDIT: Just to give an answer relevant to the OP.. I agree to the extent that I believe people are much too easily led. Whether or not we want to admit it or not, it is human nature to follow the crowd. It's easy to believe what we want to believe or what we are told by others to believe, because that is the way of least conflict. Heck, the majority of the developed world have a world view that is significantly fabricated.”

A very wise post for a "Young'un".

The Daily Mail is a right wing paper that loves to create fear and stir up righteous indignation amongst its small minded readership

BB is a show that is in its death throes, murdered by C5
