What is the deal wth Megan these days ? .....her son was homeless sleeping rough and she never got involved .....

Why does she care so little for her son ?

I know people diss Charity here but she looks after her kids ........Megan could not give a doss for her boy !

Funny, was wondering the exact same thing when I was watching on Friday. It's like Megan forgot Robbie existed for weeks. Last night was the first time they've interacted for ages.

Love Emmerdale, but something a bit funny definitely happened with the storylining a few weeks back. One minute Megan was pleading with Declan to keep Robbie on at work, and Megan was telling Robbie she wanted him to stay on there to spy on Charity and try to catch her out. Then the whole storyline vamooshed and was replaced by him hanging round the cottage with Sam and Terrible Tracy. Megan went off to pester Jai.

I guess that happens in soap sometimes, they just change direction and things get lost.

Exactly this, and it's just another example of careless and bad writing.

All the trouble she went to to find him in the first place, then standing up for him and protecting him at every turn........ until the writers moved on to another sl and simply don't have the competence to keep this new mother/son relationship ticking over. I really do think it's a common fault amongst all soap writers these days - a total inability to multi-task. It's like every time a new sl comes along, most other existing sls are just forgotten about.

I know Corrie has problems at the moment, but in their defence, they've always been pretty good at keeping all their balls (sls) in the air at the same time.

Until I read this I'd quite forgotten he was her son. I'm a regular viewer so it must have been a while since the mother/son relationship was shown or referred to. Seems strange she would fight so hard for Declan (especially with all the Charity stuff) and barely acknowledge Robbie when he is in trouble.
That's got me wondering, where is Megan living now, and why hasn't she found space there for Robbie?

I think it happened because Finn & Robbie had perhaps a little more chemistry on screen than they were supposed to. Either that or the audience cottoned on too quickly that Robbie was going to be gay and they changed their minds.

Or as Oldnjaded said it could just be lazy writing.

Either way it's been bugging me for weeks that they haven't interacted once and Megan has gone down in my estimations because of it.

I'm glad other's have noticed this. Major stuff has been happening to Robbie, and Megan hasn't even noticed.

I've never really liked Megan, but one of her saving graces was her relationship with Robbie (and his saving grace), which seems to have been forgotten lately. Megan is far too busy with her chemistry-free relationship with Jai to remember she has a son, simply b/c Jai is now cheating with Leyla.

Also, they've forgotten about Robbie and Finn's budding friendship, which is a shame, as there's been some good opportunities to develop it further that they've missed.

Exactly what I meant. They start off these potentially long term story arcs and then another sl comes along and they effectively go 'ooh look, a butterfly' and move on to that, completely forgetting the existing sl. That way madness lies.

Megan abandoned Ratty when he was born and clearly forgotten about him again.

It is very strange that over the last month or so she has seemingly ignored the poison dwarf like he was some horrible plague on mankind. She would rather lower her knickers for serial adulterer Jai.

I am not criticising, if the jumped up little bag of crap were my son I would have hit him over the head and dumped him in the river.

Its funny though that horse face had a son who resembles a rat.

Yes it's like when Nikhil was having his eating issues which never turned into anything! The stuff they forget about also has the potential to be better than the big stories they have planned. How embarrassing.

Both Megan and Robbie are exhausted and pretty pointless really, both should go.

Yes exactly! That would have been a very good sl to pursue. And they did the groundwork, they sowed the seeds in the viewers' minds, then just dumped it. Crazy.

It's especially strange at Emmerdale though, because there are actually loads of scenes where they have people mix in the Woolie or the caff. All they would need to do is script a single scene that shows she's vaguely concerned about where he's living. But they dropped the ball.

I thought the same at first.

Yep, I definitely think Robbie and Finn's friendship got lost in the mix as well. That disappeared at the exact same time as Robbie "spying on Charity" disappeared.

I'm glad other's have noticed this. Major stuff has been happening to Robbie, and Megan hasn't even noticed.

Yes, totally agree! When Megan was hurt in the fire, and Robbie looked after her as she recovered, they both became much softer and more likeable. She's too harsh on her own, and the stuff with Jai isn't helping - she comes off looking like a insensitive idiot.

I think it was the start of the Ross and Donna stuff which has knocked everything else off beam, myself. I absolutely adore Ross and Donna, but I think when they realised they could get Verity for the summer and starting scripting it, other things got knocked out. Because the Ross/Debbie stuff suddenly got dropped like a hot brick as well. Danny Miller signing on the dotted line will have changed future plans as well I guess. Well, you win some, you lose some. WIN: Ross and Donna. LOSE: No Robbie/Finn, and lots of Aaron. Bleurgh.

That was a bit mega. I'll shut up.

This.

They are so boring and that includes Declan which pains me as I've seen both Jason Merrells and Gaynor Faye in other things and I know they can be good but my god is there characters dull.

Home Farm need a new family, I was hoping they bring Gil back I know the actor had some personal issues going on and now that is sorted I hope they think about bringing him back.

If I had a son like Robbie I wouldn't be big on the parenting front either.

Wait a minute... he still works for Declan Macey as Megan Macey pleaded for him not to be sacked.

Robbie Lawson then claimed he was settled and had a place to stay. To be fair she had no where to go and Jai Sharma obviously didn't want Robbie there (says it all about her choice of man.)

So why would she be worried? Mother and son don't need to interact every single week.

Actually Megan and Robbie moved into Jai's house together.

Then the next day Jai says to him that he has to leave because Priya is coming home. Megan wasn't there and Priya didn't come home for at least a week and Megan never asked him if he had a place to stay.

Exactly. He lied. She believes he is staying with a friend, which is what he told her. Although I think it was Georgia that stopped him moving in with Megan because of Priya and her brat coming home. Maybe Jai too, but I don't remember him objecting.

I think it was Rishi that told Jai that there was no room for Robbie. And Robbie over heard so he left.

The man who played Pete Callan, he was fantastic. Gaynor Faye or Jason Merrells spoke at how well he slotted in and knew his craft very well.

Shame really and yes it pains me, 2 amazing actors being used so badly.
