1) Julia Smith - without her the show wouldn't be here.

2) John Yorke - his 2000 to 2002 era was my favourite time of the show.

3) Matthew Robinson - aside from Julia Smith, Matthew is probably the greatest producer that EastEnders has ever had. The only reason I don't put him higher is because he let his ego get in the way which resulted in the unnecessary deaths of Tiffany and Cindy.

4) Diederick Santer - a great producer who introduced some great characters.

5) Louise Berridge. I was tied between placing Louise at 5 or going for Corinne Hollingworth but I went for Louise purely because she introduced some of the 00s most iconic characters. Its a shame her era is remembered so badly because if you factor out the Ferreira's it was a really good time for the show.

Myabe John Yorke eclipses it for me considering Julia created the soap that's a tough one. Louise Berridge - I can't remember her era. What was going on then? I loved Santer's era despite its faults to some.

Louise's era was the Den return, Alfie/Kat, Sharon/Dennis. There was some bad things like the fairground disaster but like you with Santer despite the faults I enjoyed it.

Nobody can come close to Lorraine Newman- *hears the sound of a stake being erected and wood being set alight*.

We're both done for now.

Expect a medieval-style torture.

I expect an EastEnders official asking us to repent before the fire is started. Think the Spanish Inquisition- "You will pray to the one true God DTC."

Worse than that- they'll make us listen to Joey speak and make us write down what he said- we don't have a hope in hell.

I think you might have discovered what Proto-Indo-European sounded like.

Well in the bad old days episodes of EE did tend to feel like they had been going on for ever!
