"1080 SD" on Netflix?
I watch Netflix on my WD TV Live player, and on pressing Options it displays the resolution that Netflix is displaying. However, for most titles it is showing "1080 SD"? Is this an error? How can 1080 be SD?
Thanks for any help. |

That's more than likely the output of the WDTV rather than the content.
I'd of thought that when you set up the WDTV you set the resolution to 1080? |

Thanks for any help. Always used to show 1080 HD (when HD was available), strange, and I haven't changed any settings. |

Yes, I noticed this recently on my WDTV Live. It has to just be an error and it is still actually displaying "Super HD", right? As far as I know it'd be impossible to output 1080 "standard definition"?!

I did not think the WD Live Netflix app was capable of Super HD? Only standard 1080p HD?

I seem to remember it used to say Super HD during playback, before the last update. I could be wrong though. After a quick Google I couldn't find any definitive answers but the general consensus seemed to be that any device capable of 1080p would be capable of Super HD. Not sure if it is simply an increased bitrate rather than a different codec, for example? |
