The Irrepressible Dark Horse was a legendary housemate. He effectively controlled Big Brother and refused to be broken. He wouldn't have appeared in such a contrived and heavily edited/scripted show like it is now.

Being ironic? Pav is the best housemate since Marcus. He's amazing.

Nowt ironic about that brother.

How people remember what they want to remember! Here is Marcus in the diary room with Big Brother. You will see that BB do not call him racist, and that they do not try to 'break him'; you will also see that he was not a 'legend' and did not 'own' them; in fact he rambled on and on in a confused way, and finally agreed with them as meekly as a lamb.

For some reason, people changed this completely in their minds into some kind of attack on Marcus which he valiantly rebutted, instead of a scene where he came across as a gigantic tit.

Some sickening opinions on Marcus here. Sick if it and thinking if leaving in protest about it.

My opinion he was a good housemate but also a dick head lol A very possible thing for a BB contestant to be.

I found him to be an arse at times, but he was also one of the most entertaining characters that I've ever seen on BB. I don't think there's been a HM that has brought as much to the table since, IMO.

Plus, he infuriated the righteous, smugly-sanctimonious, grossly hypocritical, white working-class male hating, self-proclaimed 'liberals', which is always a bonus.

Still struggling with the difference between fact and opinion, eh? If someone considers him to be a BB legend who are you who to say their view is wrong, or that it's a 'fact' that he rambled on...'?

Indeed, see also Callum from last year and of course King dick head himself - Sir Steven of Goode.

All excellent, thoroughly toe curling housemates

Now only good "housemates" get this kind of response years on lol Whether its hate or thoughts that they were a good housemate. Some housemates will get no response or an WHO...

The OP kinda sounds in love with him though

Didn't he just, think that's what I enjoyed most about him, he provoked much frothing from certain quarters.

I quite liked Marcus--he was ridiculous and funny in turns, and Freddie apart [before His Meltdown] there weren't many others to 'like'. God, remember poor Sri??

Hardly. He spent half the time in bed sulking, after being back-heeled romantically speaking. The rest of the time he spent bashing his bishop as a consolation.

I'm with you. I read the transcript there and it wasn't rambling. He was indignant and ranting but with cause and he remained on point and articulate throughout the rant. It was BB who backtracked and said they were not accusing him of being racist after he called them on it, but I don't see how they can spin it any other way. Also, whoever typed up the transcript decided he said his last few words meekly. That's a personal interpretation.

Marcus for me is a legendary housemate. Not just for the above rant. He's one of the most likable and entertaining people to ever have appeared on the show.
