Fast-tracking this one then. Probably makes sense to capitalise on any hype surrounding the US launch.
With The Mentalist not back until early 2015 as opposed to October as normal, it could be that Gotham will air Tuesday nights at 9PM in the UK. Hopefully in two uninterrupted blocks (as has been the case with The Mentalist) as opposed to a very stop start scheduling pattern throughout the run. If that is the case, C5 might get away with a complete block of 16. One thing I hope though, we avoid double bills. I don't know why channels insist on it. 2 hours is simply too long these days - particularly with most viewers watching with a phone or some kind of device in hand as a distraction - and the second episode usually sees a significant drop in viewership! |

When people say there's a default BBC1 audience or that Death In Paradise only gets its ratings because nothing else is on. Remember this rating for In The Club.

In The Club for a drama title isn't exactly 'must-watch' |

New BBC1 drama #InTheClub launched disappointingly with 3.98m/19.1%, however this was enough to win the 9pm slot. 9:36 AM - 6 Aug 2014 Ouch! Not a good start. Looks like STV may have took a few viewers off possibly, but even so, that's a good million lower than your typical Tuesday BBC1 drama, share a few points lower as well. Might need to revise Bake Off down a few for tonight now... Though she seemed to enjoy it... (The programme, I mean) |

It was awful. More worryingly it might have put paid to any hopes I had of convincing Mrs Sykes we should have kids!
Though she seemed to enjoy it... (The programme, I mean) ![]() There wasn't loads of publicity surrounding the show though was there. I don't know what else BBC one can put on in August, so good to see new drama going out and keen to see more, but theres no stopping launching all these new series this week. Won't people be away somewhere nice and hot and not even considering the box till "Strictly" returns |

To make any kind of return on Gotham, C5 need to show it a day after it airs on Fox.
However, I fully expect this to air in November or something, long after everybody who wants to watch it has wtched it. It always amazes me that the TV companies complain about piracy, yet still insist on showing something weeks or months after it airs in the US. It's so antiquated. They have themselves to blame really. |

Sure it will go even higher than that tonight, I think its a ratings banker and will be unaffected by low figures of July and this week. "Utopia" on Channel 4 drops to 349k |

Tipping Point got 1.65m beating The 21st Question.
Pointless and The Chase are the only two teatime shows that do really well; they need to think long and hard to try and match their success for a new show. |

Masters of Sex: 251k - Source: https://twitter.com/johnplunkett149/...43910548426752
The STV debate peaked with 900k. The peak share therefore was probably around ~40% - Source: https://twitter.com/STVnichola/statu...45243783442432 |

I don't suppose BARB will pick up those in the rest of the UK who tuned into STV on Sky by typing in transponder details. We might get STV website hits but of course the website crashed.
900k is an excellent peak though. |

Utopia you deserve so much more!

Yes, just churning out one naff quiz after the other isn't going to work.
