Glad to see In The Club rising again, its a decent drama and its not very often we see a drama rise during its run.

Yeah I think last time was "Happy Valley" we are so used to seeing drops now. I wonder how it was decades ago, surely the audience built back then through just word of mouth and no Twitter to destroy a programme instantly.

Waterloo Road has been running for years and only just been axed, rather disproves your theory that they go at the end of the second year ! Casualty has been running almost since television was invented (or so it seems).

Well In The Club did start below 4m, and the title isn't that exciting, but I imagine word of mouth coupled with the fact its basically a competition free slot for BBC1 the ratings keep growing.

Not sure how a 10% drop on last year is considered strong.

Now if I compared Day 2 with last year's Day 2 (2.15m) that would be a cruel 20% drop.

So it can't be because people like the programme?

Well in my post 'word of mouth' would suggest people do like it

Thanks

Very poor for Gift Wrapped (awful title), good for Tipping Point, and Pointless is taking advantage again of another gameshow flop on ITV.

Bleakely to host a Spandau Ballet special on ITV. ATV Today tweets!

Based on Gift Unwrapped's rating, I imagine The 21st Question will be getting a recommission.

Do you think she sometimes wishes she just stayed on The One Show?

It doesn't give much hope to Susanna Reid if they ever think about taking her off "Good Morning Britian" if that's what Bleakely gets offered.

EastEnders: 5.77m (31.9%) [+3: 399k (2.8%)]
Emmerdale: 5.5m (32.2%) [+1: 162k (0.9%)]
Holby City: 3.94m (20.3%)

EastEnders is back to where it should be share wise - 32% is very good. However, the raw figure is quite low but that's obviously because of Summer. Emmerdale is holding up well too.

EastEnders tops Tuesday's soap ratings with Charlie storyline

EastEnders pulled back ahead of Emmerdale in Tuesday evening's soap ratings (August 19), overnight figures show.

The Walford drama pulled in 5.77m (31.9%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Emma warned Max that Charlie is lying about being a policeman. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 399k (2.8%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale wasn't too far behind as 5.5m (32.2%) tuned in at 7pm on ITV and 162k (0.9%) on +1 for Ross telling Marlon the truth about Donna's dodgy side.

Holby City managed 3.94m (20.3%) at 8pm on BBC One as Jac's behaviour shocked Elliot.

Hollyoaks attracted 893k (5.7%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Mercedes and Lindsey fought back against Freddie, while E4's first look followed with 669k (3.9%) at 7pm and 181k (1.0%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours' Paige storyline continued with 622k (8.9%) at 1.45pm and 741k (6.0%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 242k (3.4%) at 1.15pm, 575k (4.0%) at 6pm and 305k (1.9%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors entertained 1.21m (17.4%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.

Trouble is with CBB and the BB15 is messing around with the Big Brother format, That may slowly put people off in the long run.

I think Susanna's getting Rising Star, they offered her more than GMB to get her to move I'm sure of it, because she might as well stayed at Breakfast if she was going to be stuck in the mornings again (Not that I think this is remotely the right choice)

Ah right OK. Mmm strange choice for "Rising Star" but I guess she wants primetime. I thought she may front documentaries.

I don't think it was working mornings that was Susanna's issue - it was the commuting. As a mum with young kids the morning show might actually be something she quite likes as it gives her more time with her family during the day...

If they gave her Rising Star I think it'd be as bad a decision as Alex Jones presenting Tumble on her own. It just doesn't fit...

And being offered more money as well as working in a studio just down the road from where she lives, rather than having to make the journey up to Salford and staying overnight had nothing to do with it?

Maybe, obviously I'm purely speculating but I remember at the time there was an article saying the BBC weren't going to be giving her any prime time prospects off the back of Strictly and this was a factor in her jumping ship, It might be completely wrong, but I think they'll want their big acquisition front and centre, especially as GMB is a disaster

I highly doubt Susanna Reid will be presenting Rising Star. I think they might use Holly Willoughby (to add to the battle with The Voice as she used to present that) paired with a male presenter (not sure who). Or possibly Davina McCall.

In The Club is a nice enough drama so it's great that it isn't failing, even if it is apparently for every reason under the sun other that "people actually want to watch it", but seeing it rise while the brilliant The Village falls so dramatically makes me hate the people with barb boxes just a little bit.
