This American wackjob Gary Busey is going to do the CBB ratings a lot of good over the next few days. It is imperitive for the show that he is not evicted this week, they need to fix it somehow so he's not up for eviction. This guy is an absolute car crash and ratings gold.

The BBC will ensure Generation Game airs next year. And they will most certainly make sure Miranda is the host. If Miranda is hesitant to host it, the BBC will have to threaten to refuse giving her future comedy projects due to her disloyalty. She will be persuaded to host Generation Game, one way or another. The BBC is too powerful an organisation to turn down when they give you an offer to host Generation Game.

So Miranda's holding out for more money having discovered Sir Bruce got £50,000 for each SCD and probably wants some sort of editorial input as well. Good luck to her.

The BBC does not bend over for people who demand more money. If Miranda wants money, the BBC wont give her more than what they deem is acceptable. If she now refuses to host Generation Game, she will make the BBC look stupid and inept. Given that the BBC is the organisation who has given her her huge break and pretty much ignited her career, I am sure she will be loyal and accept the offer to host Generation Game. If she doesn't, then the BBC will have to revert to not offering her other projects in the future. The BBC is bigger than any one person, she can go piss off to Sky to audiences of 0.3million if she wants ... or alternatively have a huge hit show on BBC1 to 5m+ audiences. It's her decision, I think she will make the right one and stick with the Beeb and accept the Gen Game role.

There's no way the BBC will bully anyone into doing something they don't want to do. There are employment laws you know! The BBC is not exempt from them. Miranda is a big name for the BBC. It isn't about bending over backwards to accomodate anyone. It's ensuring that your best talent is able to work in a good, encouraging environment. Not making them feel forced into things. If this was the case, the BBC would have no talent at all.

Anyway, I believe firmly that the deal is done anyway. Miranda was rightly annoyed that the news was leaked before it was meant to be because she was to be the subject of press release promoting The Gen Game and her other BBC projects. She felt undermined. That's all. Charlotte Moore is highly unlikely to announce something if it wasn't going to happen. It is about the timing. That's my view anyway.

Another celebrity would be able to present "The Generation Game" anyway. They will reinvent it if they feel it should come back, Rob Brydon would be a good replacement if Miranda feels she didn't want to try it, or Harry Hill if he wasn't too busy on other projects. There are many comedians who could re invent the show for BBC one, but Miranda would be great on it. Her production company is working with BBC one too so presumably she does want some involvement in it.

I think it was very unprofessional of Miranda to make that tweet. If she felt undermined, she should've talked to the BBC privately about it. Tweeting what she did to millions of followers made the BBC - who employs her - look inept. I dont know what she was trying to achieve tweeting that publicly, could be a ploy to get more money from the Beeb. You have to be careful what you tweet these days, and if anything I would say she has undermined the BBC, not the other way round. Very disappointed in Miranda with what she has done. The BBC have always supported her, given her her own show, promoted it to the top channel, given her a starring role in one of the biggest dramas around, offer her a top role in a revival of possibly the biggest gameshow of all time - and this is what she does?! If I was Moore, I'd be very annoyed.


How do you know for sure that the BBC havent used their power and reputation to persuade someone to do a project which theyre not really 100pct committed to? You dont.

It's a dated format anyway- she would probably be given better projects with Sky. Look at Ruth Jones . Stella could have been huge on BBC but was probably turned down by them for the likes of Big Top, Citizen Kahn, The Wright Way etc.

But hardly anyone would have seen the tweet anyway. She was just trying to restore some credibility to an upcoming press release perhaps. She did sort of backstep anyway by suggesting, in a second tweet, that she was doing some "private brainstorming."

Apparently it's 100 per cent cert I am doing Gen Game. First I've heard of it. Mulling some ideas about it might be more accurate.

Forgive me but how is she disloyal to the BBC by posting this? I'm truly baffled. To me all she's saying is that it's not fully confirmed that she's doing the show.

Stella's a load of rubbish. It cant even get 0.3million in the overnights on Sky1, so no way would it have been huge for the BBC. Sky like to pretend that it's a successful comedy but it's not, the ratings for it are mediocre at best and have been in decline since series 1. If Stella is the best which Sky can come up with, then the BBC are lightyears ahead of them in the comedy genre.


She should have talked about this privately to the BBC. The bbc pretty much publicaly said that Hart would host it. For her to then say publicaly that this was not 100pct true, undermined the organisation which employs her. She should've voiced her concerns and dealt with the matter privately, as any reasonable professional would do. For her to come out with this tweet, she pretty much made the Beeb look stupid.

That tweet does not say that she has refused to do it, on the contrary, to me it suggests that Charlotte has come to an agreement with her, after all, Charlotte would have commissioned the Gen Game in the first place, but Miranda wasn't ready for the official announcement yet. I agree. It does not seem disloyal.

I imagine she'd be able to get £50k out of them as well given that the whole show is pretty much dependent on the host. You can't bring this one back with Alex Jones or Stephen Mulhern.

Actually Samuel, the BBC have NOT confirmed it. Charlotte was being interviewed and she basically just said what her plans were for the next year. Clearly discussions have been made with Miranda otherwise Charlotte wouldn't have said that the Gen Game was happening in the first place. A BBC confirmation though? No. A misguided inadvertent lapse of common sense on the BBC1 controller's part? Probably. A mountain out of a molehill if you ask me.

Well it gets a lot more than 0.3 and time shifts well over a million and has good DVD sales.

You could say the same about Curb on HBO in the US ( although I am not comparing the two shows).

Stella could easily be just as successful as Gavin and Stacey if on BBC. In some ways the writing is better. My point is that the BBC has stopping making feel good comedy drama as has ITV.

You clearly stated that the BBC would threaten her - where is your evidence for this ? You are hardly going to get the best work out of someone by threatening them. At the end of the day the BBC is bigger than any individual and doesn't need to threaten people, they can always find someone else to front a show.I doubt the BBC would be concerned by her Tweet - does she really have millions of followers ?
