Pity, In the Club is miles better than The Syndicate.
In future maybe BBC1/ITV should just shutdown completely in the summer. |

It may be that I don't understand "reach" properly, but if there was a reach of 1.2m viewers on TV and >500k streams online, surely the "reach (all platforms)" would be greater than 1.2m+500k? Or is the online stream counting individuals rather than an average viewership - so is more of a "hits" counter?
With TV, reach is defined as counting all people who watched a certain minimum number of consecutive minutes, often 3 but - for PR purposes and possibly in this case - sometimes just one minute. |

I thought it was perfectly fine typical Kay Mellor drama and deserved more but people dont seem to be interested in tv at the moment. Will be interesting to see what Bake Off gets tonight.
In future maybe BBC1/ITV should just shutdown completely in the summer. The Bake Off rating tonight will be interesting. It's launching 2 weeks earlier than last yearbut is on BBC1 this time. |

Gotham is an interesting buy for 5, it's look procedural enough that it is compatible with its other shows but also has the added advantage of having the Batman connection which is easily marketable.
It'll be interesting if 5 buys any other shows, NCIS New Orleans and CSI Cyber are the obvious ones but I think something like How to Get Away with Murder or even Agent Carter would be good. |

That's what BBC1 and ITV used to do and had September as a big launch. I think ITV will be launching several things in September when audiences are larger.
The Bake Off rating tonight will be interesting. It's launching 2 weeks earlier than last yearbut is on BBC1 this time. Noone is watching TV. Big enough shows like the ITV lost Family thing is getting lower over nights. they probably would be better off, holding things back until September. For what it's worth, as a huge GBBO fan, I think it is on far too early. It is a show you associate with dark evenings etc not the middle of Summer. So many people on holidays in August too, September might have been a better time to launch all these shows. |

Really looking forward to it tonight. |

I think Bake OFf could be surprisingly low too.

I remember being a little worried it's launch figure would be disappointing last year and it wasn't (it was up over 2m on the previous year's launch,) and there definitely seems to be more buzz about it this year so I think GBBO has nothing to worry about. |

That was fast, I think Gotham probably will air October to minimise the number of breaks.

Was Celebrity Big Brother on at this time last year? I think a lot of people will want to see that Gotham preview let alone CBB.

Great to see the Ch5 schedule with CBB. I think in general people want to see the back of this years BB and are more excited about CBB.
In the first few days there is 1 hour Live Feed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and 40 mins on the Friday. That's already more than the live feed amount this year for BB! At least it gives us an extra hour of things to talk about. |

So it would be back to the old days when there was nothing on during August apart from dull repeats and lacklustre fillers.

Is it? I don't remember the 20th August last year being a particularly dark evening, or any of the previous start dates. It's only two weeks earlier than it launched last year, and only one week earlier than the two series before that.

Sundays at 9PM could be an option. Do they have the rights to many superhero movies though? If they have The Amazing Spider-Man premiere that would be a good lead-in for the pilot.
Not yet mate. Suspects premieres on Wednesday 20th August at 10PM with a two parter that concludes the following night. Wentworth will probably take one of those slots the following week. How many episodes of Suspects do they have left, I'm sure they ordered 10 episodes but I imagine they could air them as Series 2? I wonder if we'll have more news of original drama at the Guardian Edinburgh Festival? |

Great British Bake Off was event TV last year, It even got people who didn't usually watch TV at that time. It should happen again this year too but I wait until morning to see.

![]() Would make sense though. Gotham needs a good lead-in. Quote:
Yeah. Not sure about a Monday night launch - up against New Tricks, Long Lost Family and Royal Marines Commando School - yikes ! That is a very busy night of telly for a lot of viewers.
That's a very busy night of TV to launch and opposite some popular programmingQuote:

I think Wentworth will start once the repeats of series 1 finish, likewise with Under The Dome. And you know how much I enjoy Under The Dome!
