I was expecting The Driver that week but looks unlikely now. I thought Thursday but now I'm not sure if WDYTYA is still taking its break, it's still in the programme information for that week. The Missing looks like it will replace New Tricks when that finishes.

Seems like a long wait for The Fall given when the trailer was released, but not surprising since they have to wait until there's a good slot when BBC One aren't airing drama.

The Secrets being 5x30' will probably be stripped after the news.

I don't think DW will beat GBBO. It would need to timeshift well over 2 million, not impossible given the 50th and Christmas specials but I think unlikely.

Another stonking rating for the Bake Off, a timeshift of 1.66m so far which is just amazing!

I wonder if BBC one will ever move it from weekdays, and air it on Sundays.

It was a new episode and will include the figure for the BBC1 Scotland referendum debate between 9-10 pm (New Tricks was shown in Scotland at 10.30 pm).So I suspect NT was nearer 5 million. Final figures when the officials come out.

Currently the BBC's consolidated and overnight ratings are making ITV look extremely weak. I feel ITV really are less deserving of high ratings presently due to their poor efforts.


Btw The Chase: Celeb special is eight episodes long so that should put the final episode on the 18th October.

If the X Factor is down a few million on Saturday, I blame the rubbish line up the last few week and the focus on a few Reality TV shows and cheap filler.

Last year when this happened with the Labour party episode, NT got a rating of 6.2 million, which was also the lowest rating of last year's series. You might expect this given that Scotland weren't watching at the same time (I think they were watching football) but surely that also means there can't have been an additional boost from the football simply because it was in the same slot - otherwise surely the rating would have been a lot higher.

The Scotland Decides debate was on when New Tricks should have aired in Scotland. It wasn't football that was on BBC one Scotland

Better than expected rating for the Scotland debate however, seriously who knew so many English people would care, maybe they are Scottish ex pats, wondering if they will be forced to return, or claim asylum.

Doctor Who should always beat X-Factor, but then im best the point of caring about Syco TV ratings.

Yeah I know. I was talking about last year. The point I'm trying to make is that the reported rating for last night's is in fact it's actual rating, regardless of anything to do with Scotland. There may have been a boost but there didn't seem to be last year (that was when the football was on) explaining the low rating. Plus there seems to be a slight rise on the 5.8 million from last week which surely is explained by more people tuning in to watch NT.

So for all the write offs and concern on DW ratings and The Sun saying Doctor Few yesterday, it still continues to be a programme people want to catch up on on Iplayer. As said on Sunday many could have been away at the weekend or watching in a cinema then watched again at home, fine figures there, the Doctor is in good health.

It won't overtake the January series. But that's to be expected.

I wonder where Gotham will slot into the list. Mid-October launch sounds good, it means as predicted they will show a block of about 8 episodes before Christmas and then a second block from around February.

It means it won't be going on Tuesdays unless they speed up CSI with double bills and so on post CBB. Maybe that's not such a bad thing, I'm not sure the Tuesday 9PM slot is what it was for C5. Certainly CSI hasn't performed as well as they'd have hoped this season.

Is she going to get UCOS to help her look for PEEEEEEEEEEEETERRRRRRR?!?!

I think Gotham might be more male skewing than C5's other US dramas so I don't think Tuesdays (or Wednesdays really) against Champions League football would be the wisest move. Thursdays could be a good shout as they don't look set to be particularly crowded so something like Gotham could make a big impact. Mondays look busy although Gotham will skew younger than the other dramas so could work. I assume C4 will have Homeland on Sundays so that's probably out.
