well Channel 5 only had CSI when it first started, and they aired it Jan-Feb time as I recall, which worked for all concerned, but yeah its been a while since they only had one CSI series.
TBH I never understood why C5 delayed CSI and not the Mentalist, back then it was far more likely that The Mentalist was in its final series, and CSI would continue, ok so for some reason The Mentalist has been renewed but there was no way C5 knew that going in.

not heard anything about a limited run for CSI, TBH C5 may have to run CSI first, certainly if The Mentalist is a mid season, and same for if it picks up CSI: Cyber, anther mid season with likely a shorter run. Certainly if I was C5, I would air CSI first, then CSI: Cyber mirror what CBS is doing, the likely last series of The Mentalist can also wait till later in the year.
