Very good indeed considering how old the format is now. I wonder how it will hold up next season without Duncan Bannatyne, who's always been the star for me.

I was looking at the BARB charts and Utopia appears to have disappeared from the channel 4 top 30. Have people stopped timeshifting it or is it a mistake?

Channel 4 secure the UK's first pickup of the 2014/15 US TV season in the shape of NBC's upcoming sitcom Marry Me, from the makers of Happy Endings. It will air on E4.

Looks like ITV's new gameshow The 21st Question will be another flop in that slot. As if the schedule isn't weak enough.

Not one comment on The Mill dropping a whopping 18% week-on-week? You lot are slacking !
S1 Ep1: 2.80M S1 Ep2: 2.28M S1 Ep3: 2.18M S1 Ep4: 2.14M S2 Ep1: 2.06M S2 Ep2: 1.81M S2 Ep3: 1.48M It was only against a review of the Games, a drama repeat, a film repeat and Dragons' Den, which has barely fluctuated at all since it launched two weeks ago, in which time C4's drama has lost almost six hundred thousand viewers. |

EP2 consolidated to approximately 2.3M, which admittedly is still a good number.
It's still falling would be my worry. It could fall under 2M in the official numbers soon, something some thought was unlikely in the overnights a couple of weeks ago.

Utopia must have consolidated to ~0.66M exc. +1. Series 1 (2013) 15/01 - 1.89m (10.1%) 22/01 - 1.62m (7.7%) 29/01 - 1.53m (7.9%) 05/02 - 1.63m (8.5%) 12/02 - 1.15m (5.9%) 19/02 - 1.18m (6.6%) Series 2 (2014) 14/07 - 998k (5.6%) 15/07 - 806k (4.6%) 22/07 - 750k (4.1%) Yeah, it had a fair steep drop between episodes 4 and 5 in Series 1, but once again Channel 4 have themselves to blame for deciding to schedule it in the Summer, where no doubt it was lost in the schedule. Starting on Monday, and then remaining on Tuesday? It makes no sense. |

Eastenders W/E 27th July:
Monday overnight - 5.89m official - 6.69m Tuesday (Emm clash) overnight - 4.06m official - 5.04m Thursday (BBC2) overnight - 3.94m official - 4.59m Friday (BBC2) overnight - 3.98m official - 4.58m It looks as though the move to BBC2 damaged the consolidated numbers quite a lot. The timeshifting decreased for the episodes that went out on BBC2. None of that weeks episodes made it into the BARB BBC3 top 10 either, although they rarely do nowadays anyway. Perhaps there will be a huge spike in Iplayer numbers for the BBC2 episodes, although given that the Eastenders Iplayer numbers didn't increase at all during the World Cup month of June compared to the preceeding months, it doesn't seem that likely. Eastenders will need to start building itself back up from tonight, the cooler weather should help. |

I've added the increases from the overnights. Proportionally, it's a beast of a timeshifter.

I don't think Utopia is a great timeshifter. They decreased slightly across the series so far. All very disappointing.

But the two episodes on BBC Two timeshifted more in proportional terms than Monday's on BBC One:

I did say proportionally. Show me programmes on the main five channels that timeshift by +70-80% or more. A select few (Dallas and a few other imports on Channel 5 spring to mind). Of course, it's not much of a consolation for the broadcasters when the overnights are low!
I'm not impressed at all. |

That's no good when you have lower overnights. The final rating also ends up proportionally lower too.

Well, clearly. I was responding to the comment, "The timeshifting decreased for the episodes that went out on BBC2". I simply made the point that proportionally, it didn't. I'm not waving a banner here for EastEnders or any other show, just pointing out facts.
