I agree.

Don't think it's a bad programme, it is good to look at. With some more polish it could be something special. I do think it'll be the type of show that does well due to lack of competition rather than a genuine ratings grabber.

I have been wrong many tines before though.

Do you think this would be a good lead in to Doctor Who or not?

Its more than Splash, but it needs probably more than health and safety would allow-a sense of danger to differentiate it from Strictly. If its going to be floor and hoops all the way though I predict a big gap between start and finish ratings. Believe me I want the Beeb to find another big LE hit but its a hugely difficult task and I don't think Tumble is the answer.

EDIT-if I can be allowed a rare shallow moment-the girls are nice to look at

It's (DW) has had worse lead ins. It really isn't a terrible show. I don't think it's fair to write it off yet.

Maybe the snobbery of the people on this thread is one of the reasons why I'm not here regularly. Like they have a divine right to post here and only those "in the club" are allowed to contribute. Get over yourself.

This is not what I was expecting at all. Where are the bar, beam, and vault routines? Won't be watching any more of it!

There are trampolines, ribbons and "apparatus" later in the series.

So how well you think its going to do in the ratings? I say 6 million because of courtesy even through DS moans about it.

It's episode 1! There are apparatus as the series progresses.

I have this vague idea that there is a vault off to decide who goes, but I know what you mean-its basically Strictly with a few cartwheels.

If 'Tumble' was on ITV or ANY other channel for that matter it would be slated for the rubbish it is.

It'll rate well as there's absolutely nothing else on. That's why I'm watching it. It isn't as bad as Splash! overall but the whole concept of turning it into a dance routine is lost on me and in that sense Splash was better as it didn't paint the sport as something it isn't. I think 5m.

My source tell me it won't be renewed without considerable changes.

If you compare it to some other of the BBC light entertainment shows in the past such as I Love My Country and Don't Scare The Hare. It isn't that bad.

What thread are you reading? There's a lot of people slating in here, just because some people have dared to defend it doesn't change that. If it was on ITV it would have gotten the same reaction just the posters switched.

If it gets good ratings yes, if it doesn't then no. I think Doctor Who's first episode will be suchan event that it won't matter what its lead in will be.

So, they WILL be tackling the beams, trampolines and rhythmic gymnastics over the next few weeks. So there is more than just hoops and floor.

I don't think you were here when I Love My Country, Richard Hammond's Secret Service and Don't Scare The Hare were on. The slating they got was off the charts! And deservedly so.

Overall I though Tumble started a bit slow, but it picked up quite a bit in the middle and by the end I actually enjoyed it. Not completely sure on Alex as host yet, but that could change. Still not a bad start to a new entertainment show.

Alex Jones being slated on Twitter for mispronouncing Beth Tweddle. *Note: I haven't actually checked Twitter*

Yep there's a lot more to come yet. Don't forget this was their first live show so they were obviously all going to be nervous so as a result am guessing they didn't want to add everything just yet.
