I wouldn't mind seeing Martin Compston and Vicky McClure from Line Of Duty get nominated for Supporting too.

Was it better than Happy Valley? Well if you said that Cilla was the best biopic since "Adventures in Time and Space" then yes, it was brilliant. But if you said Happy Valley was the best new crime thriller since Broadchurch then yes, it was brilliant. It really is daft to take two totally different, incomparable shows and decide which one was better.”

Ridiculous to compare but that is what award juries will be doing next year.

Best Drama Serial: Cilla

Best Actor: Sarah Lancashire

Best Supporting Actor: James Norton

For me I would decide (eventually) with this, although that's a very close call between all three dramas and the actors in "Line Of Duty" "Happy Valley" and "Cilla". Whether the juries agree?? And of course " The Fall" is to come out soon too.

Of course, there could be far superior dramas between now and February - Cilla and/or Happy Valley might not even get nominated.

Well nothing would suprise me - especially with BAFTA.

I haven't seen any drama on Channel 4 that has come close to Happy Valley, Cilla or Line Of Duty. Even with single drama I've seen nothing special. I do think The Fall and Peaky Blinders have the potential to be on the list. Peaky Blinders was criminally overlooked in the acting and Best Drama categories.

Sarah Lancashire for Best Actor feels like it might be a controversial decision...

EastEnders goes LIVE for a whole week to mark it's 30th

So EastEnders announcing a 'Live Week' to mark their 30th Anniversary. One fully live episode plus 'live elements' in each of the other episodes that week. Presumably the Lucy Beale reveal will be done live.

ITV need to make a decision - does The X Factor exist to make them money and bring in viewers or is it there to simply bludgeon Strictly? If the former, they need to protect it as much as they can - and that includes the +1 promotion. If the latter then, yes, I agree, they wouldn't want to acknowledge Strictly's existence.

Finals are a different beast but fair point, that is an insanely long final. And to look at the BBC's schedule on the Saturday before Christmas - a Lottery quiz, Casualty and an Only Fools and Horses repeat. Strictly really gives some much needed glitter to the evening.

Well... this is BAFTA we're talking about here.

Very intriguing. If ratings haven't recovered by then, that should bring the viewers back. Although it probably won't get near the heights of 19m of 25th Anniversary episode.

Well, it's one way to have both Sheridan Smith and Sarah Lancashire win an award.

They'll have to be careful not to simply make a rehash of the 25th anniversary in terms of the reveal. The 19th February next year is a Thursday - presumably that will be the live show. By airing certain things live throughout the week they might be able to keep certain plots secret without effecting continuity which was an issue after the 25th for me.

It means pretty much anything can be done and kept secret for the viewers.

Can't see it getting anywhere near 14m let alone 19m. And the 25th was 16.4m wasn't it?

Yes - 16.41m (57%). Increased to 18.8m in the consolidated figures.

This is a startling statistic - EastEnders Live: The Aftermath accrued a total of 11.6m via the original showing, four repeats and iplayer. That's for a show which aired exclusively on BBC Three.

I guess that article made up the 19m then.

57% share - wow! I don't think it will come anywhere near that.

We dont know what will happen. Clearly it's not basef on 1 storyline but A few and no doubt there will be plenty of secrets and surprises.

A lot will depend on whether the 'Who Killed Lucy?' plot really heats up or not. While I appreciate they wanted to do a long running murder mystery plot they've certainly struggled to maintain any kind of momentum with the story. Although they're saying it comes back in a major way during the New Year episodes.

I suspect the live episode is going to be a flashback episode. That would then mean the live elements during the week would also be flashbacks. Maybe with a live arrest on the Friday.

Well it doesn't. They're still going to have filmed the a good month or twos worth of episodes that air after the live show. My major problem with the live episode for the 25th was that because the reveal was so bad and made almost no story sense (all in the name of a plot twist and surprising the audience) the aftermath had no momentum because they didn't do anything with it for ages. They definitely don't need to repeat that.

They'll have to keep a swear jar under the counter of the VIc - and hope it's big enough.

Spoiler
How long is Matt Di Angelo in the soap for? Could they somehow keep the rape reveal back for February too?

Or do an Emmerdale and have him escape from prison just in time for the 30th...

Yes, 16.41m official average as per BARB, on a Friday! (19 February 2010).

The 18.8m included several repeats.

EDIT: overnight of 14.91m (54.6%), peaking at 16.58m (59.4%).
