@TVRatingsUK: #EastEnders beat Coronation Street and X Factor to be Friday's most watched, drawing an average of 7.13m/34.4%.
Was the X factor on last night? I thought it was on just tonight and tomorrow night

Oh and look, EastEnders is higher on Friday than Thursday.
I pointed out yesterday that Thursday now seems to be the worst night of the week. Still no idea why.

Friday 9pm:
#TheXFactor: 6.34m/29.2%
#HaveIGotNewsForYou: 4.27m/19.4%
#Gogglebox: 2.84m/13.1%

Great for Gogglebox! I think TXF includes +1.
Interesting. At least XF was 1 million up on the 5.28m it got last Friday.

Poor for TXF again.

Hopefully that EE rating will give ITV a kick up the backside and get rid of that useless Stuart Blackburn from Corrie.

I think we've discovered The X Factor doesn't work on Friday's, low rating compared to Sunday and Saturday.

Gogglebox did well, but not much of a jump from last week.

HIGNFY held up well, but I imagine it might do worse against Lewis than TXF

Brilliant for EastEnders!

When was the last time it beat Corrie on a Friday night?
It shows EE can get its best figure on Friday. Maybe everybody went out on Thursday.
Well deserved!
Oh and look, EastEnders is higher on Friday than Thursday.
WOW!

EastEnders topping the Friday overnights and getting 7m on Friday! That's an impressive achievement! When was the last time either or both happened? This didn't even happen during Lucy murder week!

And that comment probably explains both the rating and the stupidity of putting it there in the first place.

Amen

The longer they prolong the agony, the longer Corrie will suffer in the long term.

thing with XF is that practically an extra 1.5m combined watch the next-day repeat editions on ITV1/ITV2.

It's repeated at 12.15pm on ITV2 and 4.30pm on ITV today, and both showings do very well.

A lot of its viewers are on nights out, it's simple.

They've tried X Factor in Friday. It didn't work so it should go back to the Sat and Sun slot. Still it's getting a heck of a lot more than most in that slot ever has/will but as far as X Factor standards, it's low and not really helping the show. 3 nights is overkill besides.

The One Show: 3.37m (18.9%)
A Question of Sport: 2.95m (15.2%)
EastEnders: 7.13m (34.4%)
Would I Lie To You?: 3.18m (15.4%)
Have I Got News For You: 4.27m (19.4%)
Big School: 2.37m (11.1%)

Nice number for EastEnders.
Very good for EE maybe it shows the soaps are not quite dead yet ( although we all knew that didnt we? ). HIGNFY holding up a lot better than predicted but I am still disappointed with WILTY ratings as I think its the funniest thing on at the moment.

Maybe XF paying for that ridiculous episode last Sunday night. Even seasoned watchers at work were fed up with it.

Hopefully we'll get the consolidated ratings for last Friday's episode today to see how it fared on catch up.

Dire for XFactor, up only half a million from last Friday despite much weaker competition. It really is in trouble from a ratings perspective. Cowell will be fuming.

EastEnders now becomes Britain's favourite soap opera. No surprises really, given how much better it is compared to Coro. Stuart Blackburn is doing a fine job killing off the oap-northern soap.

Apprentice Series Averages by Year
Series 1 (16 Feb 2005) – 2.60m
Series 2 (22 Feb 2006) – 4.43m
Series 3 (28 Mar 2007) – 5.62m
Series 4 (26 Mar 2008) – 7.29m
Series 5 (25 Mar 2009) – 8.37m
Series 6 (06 Oct 2010) – 7.87m
Series 7 (10 May 2011) – 8.80m
Series 8 (21 Mar 2012) – 7.35m
Series 9 (17 July 2013) – 7.34m

Being later in the year should benefit it.
What is interesting there though is that the only series which aired in the autumn, rated significantly lower than the two series either side which aired in worse seasons.

Is this because the autumn season is too busy, and The Apprentice just gets lost. Remember 3 episodes, towards the business end, end up clashing with I'm a Celeb, and all the papers are talking about SCD v TXF.

I think so, and I think like most things this year TA will experience a drop in viewers in 1m bracket to keep up this Autumn's trend.

Is this going to be a repeat of last Saturday, when about 10 pages were written, everyone showing off about how neither they nor anyone they know watches TXF anymore, and how it is pretty much dead and might as well be axed here and now.

And then Saturday night's rating comes along and it is many millions higher back in the ball park it is always in?

At the end of the day, it was a risk to air on a Friday, and it didn't work. Worth noting when everyone keeps doing mock schedules, moving programmes from their traditional days and expecting the audience to follow.
